MONDAY, MARCH 24th

BE PROPHETS, EVEN WHEN THEY WON’T LET US

Luke 4: 24-30

“Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown.”

Sometimes it can be difficult for those closest to us, our family and friends, to understand our ethical positions, the principles that we defend or simply our understandings about faith. Many people feel offended when we opt for the common good, when we think of others, when we share our time in service, in helping, when we speak of hope and wish to encourage those around us, even when everything seems to be going wrong. However, our calling as people of God, is just that, to carry the Good News, even to those who do not want to listen or who do not understand us.

Jesus understood this hard truth, in the place where he grew up, but even so, he did not stop, he did not remain silent, he passed through the midst of those who offended him and continued convinced of the path he had chosen. May nothing, and no one stop us in our mission to bear witness, not only with words, but also with our daily life.

Prayer: God, give me strength, to keep responding to your call and to bring the Good News to those around me. Amen.

SER PROFETAS, AUN CUANDO NO NOS DEJEN.

Lucas 4, 24-30

–Os aseguro que ningún profeta es bien recibido en su propia tierra.

Lucas 4.24

Nos puede resultar difícil, en ocasiones, que las personas más cercanas, familiares, amigos, comprendan nuestras posturas éticas, los principios que defendemos o simplemente nuestras comprensiones desde la fe. Muchas personas se sienten ofendidas, cuando optamos por el bien común, cuando pensamos en los demás, cuando nuestro tiempo lo compartimos en el servicio, en la ayuda, cuando hablamos de esperanza y deseamos alentar a quienes nos rodean, aun cuando todo parece ir mal. Sin embargo, nuestro llamado como pueblo de Dios, es justo a eso, a llevar Buenas Nuevas, incluso quienes no quieren escuchar o no nos entienden.

Jesús, comprendió esta dura verdad, en el lugar que lo vio crecer, pero aún así no se paralizó, no se calló, pasó en medio de quienes le ofendían y siguió convencido del camino que había elegido. Que nada, ni nadie nos frene en nuestra misión de dar testimonio, no solo con palabras, sino con nuestra apuesta de vida cotidiana.

Oración: Dios dame la fuerza, para seguir respondiendo a tu llamado y llevar Tu Buena Noticia a quienes me rodean. Amen.
