FAITH PUT TO THE TEST
2 KINGS 4:4
... because you know that the testing of
your faith produces endurance.
James 1:3
There are times and places where we feel as
if God has fenced us in with a mysterious wall and separates us from all help
and the normal ways in which we do things. We see then that in this way God
enfolds us to do something divine that is completely new and unexpected. In
that secret place, God molds our lives and makes us direct our lives toward
Him.
The lives of the greater part of religious
people consist in a monotonous repetition of the same actions and things. This
means that they can calculate almost everything that is going to happen to
them, but those souls that God guides and encloses only with Him know only that
God is with them, working in them, and as a result, they must put their hope
solely in Him. It is the same as with this widow; sometimes God must shut the
door in front of us so that he can talk with us, perhaps by means of pain and
suffering. It is often like this and only like this that God can give us a
precious secret.
God gives us the most marvelous revelations
of himself amid grueling trials.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for my faith, even though it is very
small. Allow me to understand that when doors close in my path it is for my own
good. Amen.

LA FE PUESTA A PRUEBA
2 REYES 4:4
...cuando su fe es
puesta a prueba, ustedes aprenden
a soportar con fortaleza
el sufrimiento.
Santiago 1:3
Hay tiempos y lugares en
los que sentimos como si Dios nos cercara con una pared misteriosa y nos
separara de toda ayuda y modos ordinarios en que hacemos las cosas. Percibimos
luego que de esta manera nos encierra para hacer algo divino que es completamente
nuevo e inesperado.
En aquel lugar secreto,
Dios moldea nuestras vidas y hace que dirijamos nuestras vidas hacia Él.
La vida de la mayor
parte de las personas religiosas consiste en una monotonía de la repetición de
los mismos actos y cosas. Esto hace que ellas puedan calcular casi todo lo que
ha de acontecerles, pero aquellas almas que Dios guía y encierra a solas con
Él, lo único que saben es que Dios está con ellas, obrando en ellas, y ello
tiene por resultado que pongan su esperanza solamente en Él. Lo mismo que esta
viuda, algunas veces Dios tiene que cerrar la puerta delante de nosotros, para
que Él pueda hablarnos, quizás a través del dolor y el sufrimiento. Muchas
veces es así, y solamente así, es como Él puede darnos un secreto precioso.
Dios nos da las
revelaciones más maravillosas de sí mismo en medio de las pruebas amargas.
Oración: Gracias Señor, por mi fe,
aunque sé que es muy pequeña. Permíteme entender que cuando en mi camino cierras
las puertas es por mi propio bien. Amén.
