TRUSTING IN HIS MERCY

MATTHEW 12:7

Finally, all of you be of one mind, sympathetic, lovers of your fellow believers,

compassionate, and modest in your opinion of yourselves.

1 Peter 3:8 CEB

As believers in Jesus Christ we live trusting in his mercy.  We know that life demands of us strength, wisdom and courage that many times we do not have.  Then we are afraid of life itself, that we will be destroyed by the blows we receive, and we turn our eyes to the heights, crying for mercy.  When we trust in God’s mercy, we confront life with a victorious attitude despite our weaknesses.  It is good to reflect on this and to remember those who live around us and hope for mercy from us.  We cannot tire of doing good and doing it with joy.  Let’s begin with our sons and daughters and let’s extend our mercy toward all who need our generous support.  

When we see that we are amazed and worried about the manifestations of evil, hatred and selfishness that are in today’s world, let us think with care that we form part of this world and it could be that our way of life reflects all that is around us in spite of our knowing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Our daily action must be permeated with the love of God and for our neighbors, with the same sacrificial spirit with which Christ taught us to love. 

Let us look around us and we will see a world in need of God’s mercy and we will remember that God offers mercy through those who become instruments of his divine plans.

Prayer:  I ask, Lord, that you help us to live trusting in your mercy.  Make us carriers and multipliers of this mercy in the world.  Through Jesus, Amen

CONFIADOS EN SU MISERICORDIA

MATEO 12:7

En fin, vivan todos ustedes en armonía, unidos en un mismo

sentir y amándose como hermanos. Sean bondadosos y humildes

1 Pedro 3:8

Los creyentes en Jesucristo vivimos confiados en su misericordia. Sabemos que la vida demanda de nosotros una fortaleza, una sabiduría y un valor que muchas veces no tenemos. Entonces sentimos miedo de la vida misma, a ser destruidos por los golpes que recibimos, y volvemos los ojos a lo alto clamando misericordia. Cuando confiamos en su misericordia, enfrentamos la vida con actitud victoriosa a pesar de nuestras debilidades. Es bueno reflexionar en esto y recordar a aquellos que viven en nuestro derredor y esperan de nosotros misericordia. La bondad y la compasión son manifestaciones de misericordia. No podemos cansarnos de hacer el bien y hacerlo con alegría. Comencemos por nuestros hijos e hijas y prolonguemos nuestra misericordia hacia todos los que necesitan un apoyo generoso.

Cuando miramos asombrados y preocupados las manifestaciones de maldad, odio y egoísmo que tienen lugar en el mundo de hoy, pensemos con detenimiento que nosotros formamos parte de ese mundo y pudiera ser que nuestra forma de vida sea la imagen de todo cuanto nos rodea a pesar de que conocemos el Evangelio de Jesucristo. Nuestra acción diaria ha de estar permeada del amor a Dios y a nuestros semejantes, con el mismo espíritu sacrificial con que Cristo nos enseñó a amar.

Miremos a nuestro alrededor y veremos un mundo necesitado de la misericordia de Dios y recordemos que Dios hace misericordia a través de aquellos que se convierten en instrumentos de sus planes divinos.

Oración: Te pido, Señor, que nos  ayudes a vivir confiados en tu misericordia. Haznos portadores y multiplicadores de esa misericordia en el mundo. Por Jesús, amén.
