HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD

MATTHEW 7:21-29

All these blessings will come upon you

and find you if you obey the Lord your God’s voice.

Deuteronomy 28:2 CEB

 God demands that we listen to him.  Jesus said on various occasions, “he that has ears to hear, listen.”  Jesus knew that one listens to God also with the heart, with the disposition to follow God’s path.

God constantly talks to us, and his Word is recognized because he speaks with authority.  God speaks to us in big ways and in little ways.  Prophetic voices rise from any source:  from within the church and from outside the church as well.  Our conscience speaks the language of God when we are confronted with the word of the Gospel.  In prayer when we don’t know the right thing to say, God also speaks to us. God speaks, but we must listen to him.  To listen is to hear with diligence and attention. To hear the voice of God is to hear to put to work what we hear.  To listen to the voice of God is to obey it.  If we listen to God, we will obey God.

God speaks in all and through all.  To hear the voice of God is a blessing. God blesses us when God speaks. If something becomes a curse, it is because we don’t listen to his voice to obey him in all his commandments.

Prayer: We want to listen to you, God.  Speak to us so we can hear you.  Speak to us so we can follow your voice.  Amen.

OÍR LA VOZ DE DIOS

MATEO 7:21-29

...todas estas bendiciones  vendrán sobre ti y te alcanzarán

por haber obedecido al Señor tu Dios

Dios demanda de nosotros que le escuchemos. Jesús dijo en varias ocasiones “el que tiene oídos para oír, que oiga”. Jesús sabía que a Dios se le escucha también con el corazón, con la disposición a seguir su camino de manera consecuente.

Dios nos habla constantemente, y su Palabra se reconoce porque habla con autoridad. Dios nos habla en las cosas grandes y en las pequeñas también. Voces proféticas se levantan dondequiera; en la Iglesia y fuera de la Iglesia también. La conciencia nos habla el lenguaje  de Dios cuando nos confrontamos con la palabra del Evangelio. En la oración que no sabemos decir convenientemente, también Dios nos habla. Dios habla, pero nosotros hemos de escucharle. Escuchar es oír con diligencia y atención. Escuchar es oír para poner por obra lo que oímos. Escuchar la voz de Dios es obedecerle. Si le escuchamos, le obedeceremos.

Dios nos habla en todo y por todo. Oír la voz de Dios es bendición. Dios bendice cuando habla. Si alguna cosa se transforma en maldición se debe a que no escuchamos su voz para obedecerle en todos sus mandamientos.

Oración: Te queremos escuchar, Dios. Háblanos para oírte. Háblanos para  seguir tu voz. Amén.
