LOOK FORWARD AND ABOVE

PROVERBS 4:20-27

Let your eyes look straight ahead,

fix your gaze directly before you.

Proverbs 4:25

A good chauffeur, running his automobile, cannot interest himself looking backwards or to the side, since he could suffer accidents. He should look forward in expectation of unsuspected surprises in the roadway.

The law of life is that we move forward with a clear and precise objective; a specific objective and a determination in reaching it are important factors in the great impulse of improvement that every human being is called to in life. The journey of life is in constant change. Unforeseen dangers and obstacles present themselves unexpectedly. Whosoever goes carelessly about, entertained by the

circumstances, can have fatal consequences. The wisdom of Proverbs, beyond that of looking forward, invites us to look above to the prize of the sovereign vocation of God in Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul also advises: put your gaze on things above, and not on the earth. And this is his reason: because the things that are seen are temporal, but the things that are not seen are eternal.

Prayer:  I know you are light in the middle of darkness, Lord. We ask that you not abandon us, and that you show us the way forward and above. Amen.

MIRA HACIA ADELANTE Y HACIA ARRIBA

PROVERBIOS 4:20-27

Mira siempre adelante, mira siempre de frente.

Proverbios 4:25

Un buen chofer, corriendo con su automóvil, no puede entretenerse en mirar hacia atrás o hacia los lados, pues podría sufrir accidentes. Debe mirar hacia adelante en espera de las insospechadas sorpresas del camino.

La ley de la vida es que nos movemos hacia adelante con un objetivo claro y preciso. Un propósito específico y una determinación en alcanzarla son factores importantes en el gran impulso de superación que todo ser humano precisa en la vida. El camino de la vida está en constantes cambios. Peligros y obstáculos imprevistos se presentan inesperadamente. Quien ande con mirar descuidado, entretenido por las circunstancias, puede tener fatales consecuencias. La sabiduría de Proverbios, además de mirar hacia adelante, nos invita a mirar hacia arriba al premio de la soberana vocación de Dios en Cristo Jesús. El apóstol Pablo también aconseja: Poned la mira en las cosas de arriba, y no en la tierra. Y esta es su razón: Porque las cosas que se ven son temporales, mas las que no se ven son eternas.

Oración: Sé tú nuestra luz en medio de la oscuridad, Señor. Te pedimos que no nos abandones y que nos muestres el camino hacia adelante y hacia arriba. Amén.
