NOT ALL IS LOST

Jeremiah 18:3-4

But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. (NIV)

Jeremiah 18:4

            When we were children, we liked to believe in heroes, and we got excited by the stories of their great deeds. The animated drawings and the comic strips are full of intrepid and invincible characters.

            The children who learned Bible stories from an early age also discovered various heroes: Samson, who defeated a lion; David, who defeated Goliath, and many others. However, in respect to the heroes of history, when we grew up we realize how unreal or fallible they are, because these heroes are used to having powers that in reality do not exist. On the other hand, the Word of God does not disclaim that even the great biblical men who played the lead in indisputable acts of courage committed errors. But they were contemplated with God’s grace.

            Jeremiah’s text tells us that the Lord can remake another damaged vessel. And he, who remade Sampson and David, is capable of reconstructing our lives, although this may be done in pieces. Do not despair if some aspect of your life is in pieces. God can reconstruct, renovate. Today, put everything in the Lord’s hands and trust in him. There is no greater love than that he has for us. Through our faith in Jesus, we receive God’s forgiveness for all our sins, and we can start anew. He puts together all of our pieces and transforms us into a new vessel.

 

Prayer: Lord, you the potter, I the clay. Amen.

NO TODO ESTA PERDIDO

Jereemias 18:3-4

 

Cada vez que una vasija se le dañaba, volvía a hacer otra, hasta que la nueva vasija quedaba como él quería

Jeremías 18:4

            Cuando somos niños, nos gusta creer en héroes y nos entusiasmamos con el relato de sus hazañas. Los dibujos animados y las historietas están llenos de personajes intrépidos e invencibles. Los niños que aprenden historias bíblicas desde temprano también descubren varios héroes: Sansóón, que derrotó a un león; David, que derrotó a Goliat, y muchos otros. Sin embargo, respecto de los héroes de las historietas, cuando crecemos nos damos cuenta de qué irreales o falibles son. Porque estos héroes suelen tener poderes que en realidad no existen. En cambio, la Palabra de Dios no  esconde que incluso los grandes hombres bíblicos que protagonizaron indiscutibles actos de coraje, cometieron errores.  Pero ellos fueron contemplados con la gracia de Dios.

            El texto de Jeremías nos dice que el Señor puede hacer otra vasija dañada. Y Él, que rehízo a Sansón y a David, es capaz de reconstruir nuestra vida aunque ella esté hecha pedazos.

            Si existen algún aspecto en tu vida que esté hecho pedazos, no te desesperes. Dios puede reconstruir, renovar. Pon hoy todo en las manos del Señor y confía en Él. No hay amor más grande que el que Él  tiene por nosotros. A través de nuestra fe en Jesús, recibimos el perdón de todos nuestros pecados y podemos recomenzar. Él junta nuestros pedazos y nos transforma en una vasija nueva.
