LET’S HOPE

1 Peter 1:13

Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23 (NRSV)

            How easy it is to lose hope! Although the quotation affirms the opposite, at times there are so many reasons to believe that all is lost: the hunger and malnutrition that kill thousands of children every day, wars, economic crises, the pride of those who would impose their will on those around them, things that are never resolved, illnesses that still have no cure, the falseness of those who appear to be good and are not. More and more reasons for believing that a better world is impossible.

            But whatever the situation is that is distressing our hearts at the moment, Jesus draws near and encourages us to maintain faith in God. He is our hope.

            God, our Father, is with us and knows our suffering. He is there when we weep alone because someone has harmed us, when we are outraged by the injustices of life, when we try without success to keep our family together. Today God tells us Do not lose hope. Because keeping hope is believing that what still seems impossible can be real. It is trusting God despite that today we cannot see an exit nor a quick solution to what is eating at us. It is having faith in his promises and believing that he will keep them.

 

Prayer: Today I thank you my God, that I can always keep faith in you. You are the answer to everything that torments my life. Amen.

TENGAMOS ESPERANZA

1 Pedro 1:13

Mantengamos firme, sin fluctuar, la profesión de nuestra esperanza, porque fiel es el que prometió

Hebreos 10:23

            ¡Qué fácil se pierde la esperanza! Aunque el dicho afirme lo contrario, a veces hay tantas razones para creer que todo está perdido: el hambre y la desnutrición que matan a miles de niños cada día; las guerras, las crisis económicas, el orgullo de quienes desean imponer su poder sobre los demás, las cosas que nunca se resuelven, las enfermedades que todavía no tienen cura, la falsedad de los que aparentan ser buenos y no lo son. Motivos y más motivos para creer que es imposible un mundo mejor.

            Pero sea cual fuere la situación que en estos momentos angustia nuestro corazón. Jesús se acerca y nos anima a mantener la confianza en Dios. Él es nuestra esperanza.

            Dios, nuestro Padre, está junto a nosotros y conoce nuestro sufrimiento. Está cuando lloramos en soledad porque alguien nos ha herido, cuando nos indignamos frente a las injusticias de la vida, cuando intentamos sin éxito que nuestra familia permanezca unida. Él nos dice hoy: No pierdas la esperanza. Porque tener esperanza es creer  que puede ser realidad lo que todavía parece imposible. Es confiar en Dios a pesar de que hoy no podemos ver una salida ni una pronta solución para lo que  nos preocupa. Es tener fe en sus promesas y creer que las cumplirá.

 

Oración: Gracias te doy mi Dios, porque puedo mantener siempre puesta mi esperanza en ti. Tú eres la respuesta para todo aquello que atormenta mi vida. Amén.
