THE LORD’S DAY
Luke 6:6-11
Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the sabbath . . .”
Lukr 6:9a (NRSV)
The day of rest is often destroyed by Christians. We don’t value it that much, but it is a day that is necessary for maintaining relationships with God.
The day of the Lord should be dedicated to Him in order to extol his memory and remember his resurrection, because by that resurrection we have new lives. Let us live that day especially for the Lord, although all of our days ought to be God’s as Lord of our lives.
The Lord’s day should not be only for going to Church for a while, worshiping God, and then dedicating the rest to pleasures without any value whatsoever. Let’s keep this day in love, in service to our neighbor, and in witness to the word of life. That is the meaning of such a day and we have been asked to keep it and keep it holy.
Prayer: Lord, let us recognize and give true value to the day of rest. Amen.

EL DIA DEL SEÑOR
Lucas 6:6-11
Jesús dijo: “Voy a preguntarles algo. ¿Qué está permitido hacer en los días de reposo?”
Lucas 6:9a
El día de reposo es muchas veces destruido por los cristianos. No lo estimamos como tal pero es un día necesario para mantener las relaciones con Dios.
El día del Señor debe estar dedicado a Él, a fin de ensalzar su memoria y recordar su resurrección, pues por esa resurrección tenemos vidas nuevas. Vivamos ese día especialmente para el Señor, aunque todos nuestros días deben ser de Dios, como Señor de nuestras vidas.
El día del Señor no debe ser tan solo para ir un rato al templo, adorar a Dios, y dedicar el resto a placeres sin valor alguno. Guardemos ese día en amor, en servicio a nuestro prójimo y en testimonio de palabra y de vida. Ese es el sentido de un día así y se nos ha pedido que lo guardemos y lo santifiquemos.
Oración: Señor, permítenos reconocer y dar el verdadero valor al día de reposo. Amén.
