Miracles are possible with Jesus

Mark 6:30-44

They all ate and were satisfied. (NIV)

Mark 6:42

            According to the disciple’s opinion, Jesus was asking them to do an impossible task. He told them that they had to feed 5,000 people. When they checked their resources, they realized they had only two fish and five loaves, but they had forgotten that Jesus always had a way of making much with little. And Jesus proceeded to remind them.

            We frequently confront situations and tasks we believe to be beyond our abilities. Sometimes we wish we had at least two fish and five loaves! On occasion, we feel we only have at our disposal a few thorns and some crumbs.

            This story tells us that it’s not necessary to be prepared to confront all the situations or needs that present themselves. As if this were possible! Jesus Christ does not demand that we give more than what we’re capable of giving. He only asks us that we check our resources, that we offer what we have, and that we trust in that much can be made of little.

            Miracles happen when we do this.

 

Prayer: Jesus, Lord of our lives, we ask you today for the faint of heart. Help us to make them see your great love and mercy toward the world. Amen.

LOS MILAGROS SON POSIBLES CON JESUS

Marcos 6:30-44

Todos comieron y quedaron satisfechos

Marcos 6:42

            Según la opinión de los discípulos, Jesús le pedía hacer una tarea imposible. Les dijo que tenían que alimentar a cinco mil personas. Cuando verificaron sus recursos, comprobaron que tenían sólo dos peces y cinco panes, pero habían olvidado que Jesús siempre tiene una forma de lograr mucho con poco. Y él procedió a recordárselo.

            Con frecuencia debemos encarar situaciones y tareas que nos parecen ser superiores a nuestras fuerzas. ¡A veces quisiéramos tener por lo menos dos peces y cinco panes! En ocasiones sentimos que sólo disponemos de unas pocas espinas y algunas migajas.

            Este relato nos dice que no es necesario estar preparados para enfrentar todas las situaciones o necesidades que se presentan, ¡cómo si eso fuera posible! Jesucristo no exige que demos más de lo que somos capaces de dar. Él sólo nos pide que verifiquemos nuestros recursos, que ofrezcamos lo que tenemos y que confiemos en que se puede hacer mucho con poco.

            Los milagros ocurren cuando hacemos esto.

 

Oración: Jesús, Señor de nuestras vidas, te pido en este día por los apocados de corazón. Ayúdanos a hacerles ver tu gran amor y misericordia con el mundo. Amén.
