LET’S SET ASIDE TIME EVERY DAY

Mark 1:35-39

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

            In our community we celebrate the tradition of daily devotions. It is only a few minutes that we dedicate to prayer and meditation before we begin the labors of the day. In addition, the occasional song encourages us in the start of our day. However, I recognize the times that we affect this community by claiming that we have already done our personal devotion or that there’s not enough time for everything we need do in the day. Fortunately, our daily encounter with God is a necessity and then we can pick up the pace.

            No matter how hectic our lives are, we must never disregard that moment of encounter with the Lord, and if we live it in community, so much the better. Either when we get up or before resting, meet with your family, or a neighbor, or one of your brothers or sisters in the church, and live that moment of prayer and meditation together with the God of life.

            Jesus went out very early in the morning to meet with God in prayer, before beginning his day. Don’t just leave it to Sunday; set aside even a small amount of time each day to nourish your faith. Without a doubt, the result with be a fruitful day blessed by God!

 

Prayer: Our God, remind us of the need to meet you in sincere communion before undertaking any action for the day. Amen.

RESERVEMOS UN TIEMPO CADA DÍA

Marcos 1:35-39

Muy de madrugada, cuando todavía estaba oscuro, Jesús se levantó, salió de la casa y se fue a un lugar solitario, donde se puso a orar.

            En nuestra comunidad existe la tradición de celebrar devocionales diarios. Es un tiempo de escasos minutos que dedicamos a la oración y la meditación antes de comenzar nuestras labores cotidianas. También algún que otro canto nos anima a comenzar el día. Sin embargo, reconozco que en ocasiones afectamos este tiempo comunitario aludiendo que ya hicimos nuestro devocional personal o que no hay mucho tiempo para todo lo que debemos hacer en el día. Afortunadamente nuestro encuentro con Dios diario es una necesidad y luego retomamos el ritmo.

            Por muy agitada que sea nuestra vida, nunca debemos violar ese minuto de encuentro con el Señor, y si lo vivimos en comunidad mucho mejor. Ya sea al levantarnos o antes de ir al descanso, reúnase con su familia, con algún vecino, con alguno de sus hermanos o hermanas de la iglesia, para vivir ese minuto de oración y meditación junto al Dios de la vida.

            Jesús salió muy de madrugada a encontrarse con Dios en oración, antes de comenzar su jornada. No lo deje sólo para el domingo, cada día reserve aunque sea un pequeño tiempo para alimentar su fe. ¡Sin dudas, el resultado será un día fructífero y bendecido por Dios!

 

Oración: Dios nuestro, permite que seamos conscientes de la necesidad de encontrarnos contigo en comunión sincera, antes de acometer cualquier acción en el día. Amén.
