a second chance

John 3:15

…that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.

John 3:15 (NIV)

The violence characteristic of human limitations in loving our neighbor led our Redeemer to a cross. Every year when these dates approach, we remember all that Jesus suffered, what we lived with Him, and we rejoice for the opportunity that He left us after His resurrection. As it is expressed in the text: that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life.

Have we ever thought that the life we have is an opportunity? This does not mean that we are not going to make mistakes, but it also teaches us to value opportunities. It shows us that we learn from our mistakes, and also from those of others. Let us not crucify our brother or sister by speaking ill of his or her life. Let us not sacrifice him or her with our criticisms and prejudices. Let us accept once and for all the reason why Christ died: for love.

Let the love that we give be pure and true, and everything we do be good. May it be love that strengthens and does not fade.

Prayer: Thank you, God, for one more day of life that you have allowed us. Help us to love sincerely and forgive us for any hurt we may have caused. Amen.

Abril 29, martes

Una segunda oportunidad.

Juan 3:15
