Anniversary of JUPRECU

i dream of my reunited people

Ezekiel 37, 21-28 /  John 11, 45-56

 …and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.

Any movement that involves leaving one’s country of origin to settle in another, due to economic and/or social reasons, is known as migration. Despite being a natural phenomenon, in Cuba it is showing its ugliest face: abandoned homes, divided families, saddened and lonely elderly people.

Today we are called to unity in prayer for the suffering people, just as the people of God did in the past. Betrayal and lack of love disperse and divide, but fidelity to and from God unifies, comforts, and liberates.

In the text, the prophet Ezekiel is the spokesperson for God’s plan of hope. Today, there are many exiles and migrants, some still remaining within the country’s geographical boundaries. But we are certain of his promise based on love: a new, definitive covenant of peace and well-being will return the joy of my people.

Prayer: Lord, guide us to be a prophetic voice and a continuation of your promise. Amen.

Aniversario JUPRECU

Sueño con mi pueblo reunido.

Ezequiel 37, 21-28/ Juan 11, 45-56

Tomaré a los israelitas de entre las naciones por donde han andado, y de todas partes los reuniré y los haré regresar a su propia tierra.

Cualquier movimiento que implique dejar el país de origen para establecerse en otro, dado causas económicas y/o sociales, se conoce como migración. A pesar de ser un fenómeno natural, en Cuba está mostrando su cara más fea: hogares abandonados, familias divididas, ancianos entristecidos y solos.

Hoy estamos llamados a la unidad en la oración por el pueblo que sufre, así como lo hizo el pueblo de Dios en el pasado. La traición y el desamor dispersa y divide, más la fidelidad de y a Dios, unifica, conforta y libera.

En el texto el profeta Ezequiel es portavoz del plan de esperanza de Dios. Hoy son muchos los exiliados, migrantes, algunos aún permaneciendo dentro de los límites geográficos, más tenemos la certeza de su promesa basada en el amor, una nueva alianza definitiva de paz y bienestar, regresará la alegría de mi pueblo.

Oración: Señor, guíanos para ser voz profética y continuidad de tu promesa. Amén.
