THE WORLD BELONGS TO THE INTERCESSORS

John 5: 1-16

“Stand up, take your mat and walk.”

John 5:8 (NRSV)

It’s hard to think that we don’t have access to healing! Perhaps this man thought this way. He couldn’t move, nor did he have someone watching the movement of the water to lower him into the pool. He had been in that condition for 38 years. But Jesus, with just His word, healed him.

Two years ago, I had a stroke that immobilized my right arm and leg. Immediately, my fellow believers, a large group from various provinces in the country and abroad, prayed for me, for my recovery; I felt that way.

On my sickbed, I received the prayers of my sisters and brothers; the Holy Spirit made it clear to me. Our pastor visited me several times in the hospital, always ending the visit with a prayer full of faith and hope for me.

Today, by the Grace of God, I walk, ride a bicycle, and have largely recovered the function of my right hand. I have returned to the normal routines I had in the Church.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for the lives of those who continually intercede before you for our problems, needs, and illnesses. Amen.

EL MUNDO ES DE LOS INTERCESORES

Juan 5: 1-16

… Levántate, toma tu lecho, y anda.

¡Es difícil pensar que no tenemos acceso a la sanación! Tal vez este hombre así pensaba, no podía moverse, tampoco contaba con alguien pendiente del movimiento del agua para bajarlo al estanque, llevaba 38 años en aquella condición.  Más Jesús, solo con su palabra, lo sanó.

Dos años atrás tuve un accidente cerebro vascular que inmovilizó mi brazo y pierna derecha. De inmediato  mis hermanos de fe, un numeroso grupo procedente de varias provincias del país y del exterior;  oraron por mí,  por mi recuperación; yo así lo sentía.

En mi lecho de enfermo recibía las plegarias de mis hermanas y hermanos, el Espíritu Santo me lo dejaba notar. Nuestra pastora me visitó en varias ocasiones en el hospital, siempre terminaba la visita con una oración llena de fe y esperanza para mí.

Hoy, por Gracia de Dios, camino, monto bicicleta y he recuperé en gran medida las funciones de mi mano derecha, me reincorporé a las rutinas habituales que tenía en la Iglesia.

Oración: Gracias Señor, por la vida de quienes interceden continuamente ante ti por nuestros problemas, necesidades y enfermedades. Amén.
