JESUS’ TRIUMPHANT ENTRY

Luke 19:28-40

“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem is an event of significant importance, both for the way it takes place and for the message it communicates to us. It is an illustration that enriches and strengthens our relationship with God.

Although it may seem like a simple task, the disciples obey Jesus and untie the donkey. God often calls us to do things that may not make immediate sense, and we may wonder if we are willing to obey without question.

The crowd recognizes Jesus as King and acclaims him enthusiastically. We too need to recognize him for who he is and for what he does in our lives. Even as the crowd adores him, some Pharisees ask Jesus to rebuke his disciples, to which he responds, “if they remain silent, the stones will cry out.” Praise to God is inevitable, even if we are reticent, his creation will proclaim his greatness.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your triumphant entry into the Jerusalem of our hearts, for allowing us to receive you as King. May we proclaim your glory at all times. Amen.

La entrada triunfal de Jesús.

Lucas 19:28-40

¡Bendito el rey que viene en el nombre del Señor; paz en el cielo y gloria en las alturas!

La entrada de Jesús a Jerusalén es un hecho de significativa importancia, por la forma como se lleva a cabo y también por el mensaje que nos comunica. Es una ilustración que enriquece y fortalece nuestra relación con Dios.

Aunque pudiera parecer una tarea sencilla, los discípulos obedecen a Jesús y desatan el pollino. A menudo Dios nos llama a hacer cosas que pueden no tener sentido inmediato y podemos preguntarnos si tenemos disposición para obedecer sin cuestionar.

La multitud reconoce a Jesús como el Rey y lo aclama con entusiasmo. También nosotros necesitamos reconocerlo, por lo que es y por lo que hace en nuestras vidas. Aun cuando la multitud lo adora, algunos fariseos piden a Jesús reprender a sus discípulos, a lo que Él responde: si ellos callan, las piedras gritarán. La alabanza a Dios es inevitable, aunque seamos reticentes, su creación proclamará su grandeza.

Oración: Señor, gracias por tu entrada triunfal en la Jerusalén de nuestros corazones, por permitirnos recibirte como Rey. Qué podamos proclamar tu gloria en todo momento. Amén.
