Good Friday

JESUS CHRIST, PATH OF SALVATION

Hebrews 4: 14 – 16; 5: 7 - 9

…Christ offered prayers and requests with loud cries and tears as his sacrifices to the one who was able to save him from death….after he had been made perfect, he became the source of salvation for everyone who obeys him.

Hebrews 5:7b, 9 (CEB)

In a world marked by pain and injustice, Jesus Christ is the path to true peace and salvation. 

At this moment we cry for salvation: wars, poverty, violence and the destruction of creation are signs that we need a radical change.  But this change will come from all human effort, of commitment to restoration and transformation through reconciliation and love that only comes from the grace of God given through Jesus Christ.  His fertile and devoted life was an example of the solution to these evils. 

As Christians, we are called to be witnesses to this salvation.  We should carry to the world the message that in Christ there is hope, that in Him there is a path to heal our wounds and rebuild our relationships.

Let’s let the grace of God transform us and push us to be light in the midst of the darkness. 

Prayer: Lord, give us the strength to follow you faithfully and the courage to proclaim your salvation to a world that needs it so much.  May your peace extended to all of creation be with us, guard us always and show us the path of eternal salvation.  Amen.

Viernes Santo

JESUCRISTO, CAMINO DE SALVACIÓN

Hebreos 4: 14 – 16; 5: 7 - 9

(…) oró a Dios y pidió ayuda porque era el único que lo podía salvar de la muerte, (…) por eso todos los que le obedecen pueden tener salvación eterna.

Hebreos 5: 7b; 9

En un mundo marcado por el dolor y la injusticia, Jesucristo es el camino que conduce a la verdadera paz y salvación.

En este momento se clama por salvación; las guerras, la pobreza, la violencia y la degradación de la creación son señales de que necesitamos un cambio radical. Pero este cambio vendrá de todo esfuerzo humano, de compromiso con la restauración y transformación mediante la reconciliación y el amor que solo viene de la gracia de Dios dada mediante Jesucristo.  Su vida fecunda y entregada fue ejemplo en la solución a estos males.

Como cristianos/as, estamos llamados/as a ser testigos de esta salvación. Debemos llevar al mundo el mensaje de que en Cristo hay esperanza, que en Él hay un camino para sanar nuestras heridas y reconstruir nuestras relaciones.

Dejemos que la gracia de Dios nos transforme y nos impulse a ser luz en medio de las tinieblas.

Oración: Señor, concédenos la fuerza para seguirle fielmente y la valentía para anunciar tu salvación a un mundo que tanto la necesita. Tu paz extendida a toda la creación sea con nosotros/as, nos guarde por siempre y nos muestre el camino de la salvación eternamente. Amén.
