IMAGE AND LIKENESS

John 7: 40-53

When they heard these words, some in the crowd said, “This is really the prophet.” Others said, “This is the Messiah.” But some asked, “Surely the Messiah does not come from Galilee, does he?

Prophets and prophetesses are those who feel called to proclaim the good news of peace, bearing witness to the ethical proposal shared by Jesus Christ.

Today, it is a gift that God offers us to live through genuine practices of love. Every day we need to be consistent with what God expects of our lives: “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another...” (John 13:35).

Jesus was judged by those who perceived his plan as a threat; today, there are also those who do not believe in a different life plan. Prophets and prophetesses are criticized for responding to God’s call to proclaim hope, to bear witness to justice in everyday life, through service and respect for his creation. To follow Jesus’ teachings is to consider oneself a prophet of our times! It is to be an image and likeness of his action and spirit!

Prayer: Bless us, Lord! Allow us to act as prophets of these times, proclaiming the truths of your glorious Kingdom. Amen.

IMAGEN Y SEMEJANZA

Juan 7: 40-53

Entonces algunos de la multitud, oyendo estas palabras, decían: verdaderamente éste es el profeta. Otros decían: Este es el Cristo. Pero algunos decían: ¿De Galilea ha de venir el Cristo?

Profetas y profetizas son quienes sienten el llamado a proclamar las buenas nuevas de paz, dando testimonios de la propuesta ética compartida por Jesucristo

Hoy, es regalo que Dios nos ofrece para vivirlo desde prácticas genuinas de amor. Cada día necesitamos ser consecuentes con lo que Dios espera de nuestras vidas: “en esto conocerán todos que sois mis discípulos, si tuviereis amor los unos con los otros…” (Juan 13:35).

Jesús fue enjuiciado por quienes sintieron su proyecto como amenaza, hoy también hay quienes no creen en proyecto de vida diferente. Profetas y profetizas son criticados por responder al llamado de Dios, para anunciar la esperanza, testificar la justicia en lo cotidiano, mediante el servicio y respeto a su creación.  Más seguir las enseñanzas de Jesús es considerarse un profeta/profetiza de estos tiempos! ¡Es ser imagen y semejanza de su acción y espíritu!

Oración: ¡Bendícenos Señor! Permítenos actuar como profetas/profetizas de estos tiempos, que proclamemos las verdades de tu Reino Glorioso. Amén.
