HONOR THE LORD

John 5: 17-30

so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father.

John 5:23 (NRSV)

Do we truly honor the Lord? We still have a long way to go to do so fully. Let’s look at just one of the topics that concerns all members of our church: the promised offering.

We all know the importance of our promised offering. With it, the church makes its plans each year, focusing its priorities on those matters it considers most important to accomplish.

Since the Old Testament, it is stipulated that we give the Lord a tithe of everything we earn. And although our church does not require this obligation, offerings are vitally important to its life and work.

We are aware of the economic situation our country is going through, but we must always honor our commitment to the Lord: to give of what we have.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for the lives of those who always honor you and continually care for and worry about the growth of your kingdom. Amen.

HONRAR AL SEÑOR

Juan 5: 17-30

… para que todos honren al Hijo como honran al Padre.

¿Verdaderamente honramos al Señor? Aún nos falta mucho para hacerlo plenamente. Veamos uno solo de los temas que nos concierne a todos los miembros de nuestra iglesia: La ofrenda prometida.

Todos sabemos la importancia que reviste nuestra ofrenda prometida, con ella la iglesia proyecta sus planes cada año, centrando sus prioridades en aquellos temas que consideran más importantes llevar a cabo.

Ya desde el Antiguo Testamento se estipula que brindemos al Señor el diezmo de todo lo que obtengamos, y aunque nuestra iglesia no exige, el obligatorio cumplimiento de este aspecto; las ofrendas sí son de vital importancia para la vida y obra de la misma.

Sabemos por la situación económica que atraviesa nuestro país, pero nuestro compromiso con el Señor debemos honrarlo siempre, es dar de lo que tenemos.

Oración: Gracias Señor, por la vida de aquellos que siempre te honran y continuamente se ocupan y preocupan por el crecimiento de tu reino. Amén.
