HOLY SPIRIT, YOU ARE THE COMFORT FOR ANGUISH AND DISAPPOINTMENT

Psalm 104: 1- 2, 5 – 6, 10, 12 – 14, 24, 30, 35

When you let loose your breath, they are created, and you make the surface of the ground brand-new again.

These words resonate with a special power in our hearts this Saturday of silence and recognition; it also happens when we go through times of anguish, pain, loneliness or hopelessness in our lives.

The Holy Spirit reminds us that Jesus overcame death and that, in Him, we have hope of resurrection. The Spirit helps us to see beyond the present pain and to trust that God has a plan of love for us. In our human weakness, He himself prays for us and strengthens us.  The Holy Spirit gives us the power to get up, continue forward and trust that with God there always is a future full of hope. 

In this special time of Holy Week, let us be filled with the Holy Spirit.  The Spirit is our companion in times of anguish, our counselor in pain and our light in darkness. Let us open our hearts to the Spirit’s presence and let us allow the Spirit to renew our lives, our family and our community. 

Prayer: Beloved God, may your Holy Spirit remind us that in Christ death does not have the last word, that loneliness is not definitive and that hope is never extinguished.  Allow us to always trust in your love and your eternal companionship.  Amen.

SANTO ESPÍRITU, ERES CONSUELO EN LA ANGUSTIA Y LA DESESPERANZA

Salmo 104: 1- 2, 5 – 6, 10, 12 – 14, 24, 30, 35

pero envías tú espíritu y todo en la tierra cobra nueva vida

Salmo 104:  30

Estas palabras resuenan con especial fuerza en nuestros corazones este sábado de silencio y recogimiento; igualmente sucede cuando atravesamos momentos de angustia, dolor, soledad o desesperanza en nuestras vidas. 

El Espíritu Santo nos recuerda que Jesús venció a la muerte y que, en Él, tenemos la esperanza de la resurrección. El Espíritu nos ayuda a mirar más allá del dolor presente y a confiar en que Dios tiene un plan de amor para nosotros; en nuestra debilidad humana, Él mismo ora por nosotros y nos fortalece.  El Espíritu Santo nos da la fuerza para levantarnos, para seguir adelante y para confiar en que, con Dios, siempre hay un futuro lleno de esperanza. 

En este tiempo especial de Semana Santa dejémonos llenar del Espíritu Santo. Él es nuestro compañero en los momentos de angustia, nuestro consuelo en el dolor y nuestra luz en la oscuridad. Abramos nuestro corazón a su presencia y permitamos que Él renueve nuestra vida, nuestra familia y nuestra comunidad. 

Oración: Amado Dios, que tú Espíritu Santo nos recuerde que, en Cristo, la muerte no tiene la última palabra, que la soledad no es definitiva y que la esperanza nunca se extingue. Permítenos confiar siempre en tú amor y tu eterna compañía. Amén.
