Mother’s Day

HEALED AND RESTORED

Luke 13: 11-13

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day. It is a date when we remember all the work that, with immense courage, dedication and love, we women carry out throughout the world, wherever we find ourselves, whatever we do. It is a day to honor every female across the planet.

The woman in this story was carrying a very heavy and painful burden. Having a perennial physical illness caused everyone’s contempt, it was a kind of stigma. In Biblical times, Jewish thought attributed this type of affectation as a consequence of personal or family sin.

This woman had the courage to overcome prejudice, she believed in Jesus’ words, he liberator of those who suffer, and experienced the healing of her body and also of her soul. She began to live without sadness, exclusion, anguish and loneliness. That wonderful, holy man had brought light into her life.

We may find ourselves in situations similar to this, and we have the opportunity to seek help. Ask Jesus to eliminate your pains and sorrows and he will work in you.

 

Prayer: Thanks we give you for the blessing of being women. Lord, may our pains he dissipated. Amen.

Día de la Mujer

SANADA Y RESTAURADA

Lucas 13: 11-13

Puso las manos sobre ella, y ella se enderezó  al momento y glorificaba a Dios

Lucas 13:13

Hoy celebramos el Día Internacional de la Mujer. Es una fecha donde se recuerda todo el trabajo que, con inmensa valentía, dedicación y amor, desarrollamos las mujeres en el mundo entero, en cualquier lugar que nos encontremos, hagamos lo que hagamos. Es un día para homenajear a cada fémina a lo largo del planeta.

La mujer de esta historia llevaba una carga muy grande y penosa. Tener una enfermedad física perenne provocaba el desprecio de todos, era una especie de estigma. En los tiempos bíblicos, el pensamiento judío atribuía este tipo de afectación como consecuencia de un pecado personal o familiar.

Esta mujer tuvo el valor de vencer los prejuicios, creyó en las palabras de Jesús, liberador de aquellos que sufren, y experimentó la sanidad de su cuerpo y también de su alma. Ella comenzó a vivir sin tristezas, exclusiones, angustias y soledades. Ese hombre maravilloso y santo había traído luz a su vida.

Podemos encontrarnos en situaciones similares a ésta, y tenemos la oportunidad de buscar ayuda. Pídele a Jesús que elimine tus dolores y penas y El obrará en ti.

 

Oración: Gracias te damos por la bendición de ser mujeres. Permite Señor que nuestras penas sean disipadas. Amén.
