ANGER

Proverbs 15:1

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.  (NIV)

Proverbs 15:1,

It’s said at times that “Violence engenders violence.” My people are very violent; lately, they have incorporated a large quantity of patrols, police that go about on bicycles and motorcycles. And I ask myself, “Is this the best way to eliminate the violence that surrounds us?” Not only the violence against women that’s so commonly spoken of, but the violence in all aspects. It’s so sad to get up in the morning and worry about what’s happening in the streets, for assaults in broad daylight and fear of going out at night.  

Violence begins with poor relations between people, anger and sharp replies. Most of the time we become irritated when something disturbs us: we go on accumulating grievances and discomforts until the moment we can’t take it anymore and react furiously. Take care! If we were victims of outbursts from another, let us respond kindly and firmly; our dignity will not be diminished by this. I have had many proofs, that in the face of irritated people a soft word is stronger and has a greater effect. Christians must radiate calm, peace, calm to everything that surrounds us. Let us remember the peace that the Lord gives us and carry it wherever we may go. Only in this way  can we change the environment.     

 

Prayer: I come before you today, Lord, so that you help me eliminate the anger in my soul. You can change me and make me different, that I may be a peacemaker, and that my words transmit serenity as you have taught me. I ask it all in Jesus’ name. Amen.

ENOJO

Proverbios 15:1

La respuesta amable calma el enojo; la respuesta violenta lo excita más

Proverbios 15:1,

Se dice muy a menudo: “La violencia engendra violencia”. Mi pueblo es muy violento, últimamente se han incorporado gran cantidad de patrullas, policías que andan en bicicletas y motos. Y yo me pregunto ¿esta será la  forma adecuada para acabar con la violencia que nos rodea? No solo la violencia contra la mujer, de la cual tanto se habla, sino la violencia en todas sus aristas. Es tan triste levantarse y tener que preocupamos por lo que sucede en las calles, por asaltos a plena luz del día, temor a salir de noche.

La violencia inicia con malas relaciones entre las personas, el enojo,  las malas respuestas. La mayoría de las veces  nos ponemos irritables cuando algo no nos sale bien, vamos acumulando molestias, incomodidades hasta que llega el momento en que no podemos más y reaccionamos enfurecidamente. ¡Cuidado! Si fuéramos víctimas del exabrupto de otro, respondámosle amablemente y con firmeza, nuestra  dignidad no menguará por esto. He tenido muchas pruebas de que ante personas irritadas una palabra suave es más fuerte y surte mayor efecto. Los cristianos debemos irradiar calma, paz, sosiego a todo lo que nos rodea, recordemos la paz que el Señor nos da, llevándola a dónde quiera que vayamos, solo así podremos cambiar el entorno.

 

Oración: Señor, hoy vengo ante ti para que me ayudes a eliminar el enojo de mi alma, tú puedes cambiarme y hacerme diferente, que sea una pacificadora y que mis palabras trasmitan serenidad como tú enseñas. Te lo pido por Jesucristo. Amén.
