THANK YOU  FATHER

Psalm 26

…But the other nine, where are they?

I pray with the psalmist: “Let the voice of thanksgiving be heard”. The poet writes a poem, the cantor sings a song, the artist paints a picture, the minister presents a sermon, the housewife attends to the family. When everyone does something, then the voice of thanksgiving can be heard. Thus, everyone finds a natural and compensating way to express a grateful heart.

No matter how a person chooses to express gratitude, there is one way to give thanks that is available to all, and that is necessary: the prayer of gratitude.

It is good to remember that we can turn to God simply and lovingly and say, “Thank you Father,” knowing that He immediately hears and understands the spirit in which we offer our heartfelt gratitude. It doesn’t matter what we thank Him for. It may be one blessing or numerous blessings, but it is important that we express our gratitude, because giving thanks is a two-way street: bringing us to God and bringing God to man. 

 

Prayer: Father, teach us to be grateful. Your great mercy demands it. Amen.

GRACIAS PADRE

Y los otros nueve, ¿dónde están?

Lucas 17:17

Oro con el salmista: “Que se escuche la voz de acción de gracias”. El poeta escribe una poesía, el cantor canta una canción, el artista pinta un cuadro, el ministro presenta un sermón, la dueña de casa atiende a la familia. Cuando todos hacen algo, entonces la voz de acción de gracias puede oírse. Así, cada uno encuentra una natural y compensadora manera de expresar un agradecido corazón.

No importa cómo una persona elija expresar el agradecimiento, hay una manera de dar gracias al alcance de todos, y que es necesaria: la oración de gratitud.

Es bueno recordar que podemos volvernos a Dios sencilla y amorosamente y decir: “Gracias Padre”, sabiendo que Él inmediatamente escucha y comprende el espíritu en el que ofrecemos nuestra sentida gratitud. No importa por qué le damos gracias. Puede ser una o numerosas bendiciones, pero es importante que expresemos nuestro agradecimiento, porque dar gracias es un camino abierto en  dos extremos: trayéndonos a Dios y llevando a Dios al ser humano.

 

Oración: Padre, enséñanos a ser agradecidos. Tu gran misericordia así lo demanda. Amén.
