HARMONY IN THE FAMILY OF FAITH

Galatians 6:1-10

In a musical band or an orchestra, there are many people who play the different notes, but they do it in such a way that they achieve a harmony in their sounds that is pleasing to our ears. Harmony is something very necessary in many aspects of life. Divisions are luxuries that we should not allow ourselves.

Above all, it is necessary to seek and fight for the unity of God’s people. The divisions of the Church have always produced negative results. In the Old Testament we find a sense of unity that is exclusive. What affects one member of the community affects all. The sense of the people of God develops in a very definite way and marks a very clear awareness of their role as a community.

Today we are facing an era that tries to give a different meaning to the expression of the Christian faith. This is what we call ecumenism. But ecumenism does not mean that we necessarily have to unite organically in a single administrative body, as a monolithic piece. The unity we pursue is of another kind. It is the unity that has already been given to us in Christ, and which we simply must manifest to humanity, as the Lord asked in his intercessory prayer for the disciples: That they may all be one so that the world may believe.

 

Prayer: We ask Lord that you help us so that the church will be in a bond of harmony and love Through Jesus we ask it. Amen.

ARMONIA EN LA FAMILIA DE LA FE

Galatas 6:1-10

…sírvanse los unos a los otros en amor

En una banda musical o una orquesta, son muchos los que ejecutan las diferentes notas, pero lo hacen de tal forma que logran una armonía en sus sonidos que resulta agradable a nuestros oídos. La armonía es algo muy necesario en muchos aspectos de la vida de un hombre. Las divisiones son lujos que no debemos permitirnos.

Sobre todo es necesario buscar y luchar por la unidad del pueblo de Dios. Las divisiones de la Iglesia han producido siempre resultados negativos. En el Antiguo Testamento encontramos un sentido de la unidad que es exclusivo. Lo que afecta a uno de los miembros de la comunidad afecta  a todos. El sentimiento de pueblo de Dios se desarrolla en una forma muy definida y marca una conciencia  muy clara de su papel como comunidad.

Hoy nos enfrentamos a una época que trata de dar un sentido diferente a la expresión de la fe cristiana. Es lo que llamamos ecumenismo. Pero el ecumenismo no quiere decir que tengamos necesariamente que unirnos orgánicamente en un solo cuerpo administrativo, como una pieza monolítica. La unidad que perseguimos es de otro tipo. Es la unidad que ya nos ha sido dada en Cristo, y que sencillamente debemos manifestar a la humanidad, como pidiera el Señor en su oración de intercesión por los discípulos: Que todos sean uno para que el mundo crea.

 

Oración: Te pedimos Señor que nos ayudes para que tu Iglesia sea una Iglesia en un vínculo de armonía y servicio. Por Jesús te lo pedimos, amén.
