JESUS NEEDS CONSISTENT FOLLOWERS

Luke 11: 27-28

But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”

Luke 11:28 (NRSV)

Today’s text tells us about a woman passionate about the words and knowledge of the Master, to the point that she decided to “raise her voice” among the people, to praise him. This is how moved we often leave our churches, our devotions and studies, our times of meditation and prayer. However, Jesus reminds us that the path to the Father does not end with what we feel.

It is true that receiving the teachings of Jesus and being aware of the full life that he proposes to us, feeling committed to his Kingdom project is a joy that not all people recognize. But He also asks us to be consistent between what we learn from His Ministry and what we practice. This implies not only the study and awareness of his Truth, he also demands will and discipline so that we are witnesses of a life of faith.

 

Prayer: Thank you Jesus for inviting us to be better at every moment. If yesterday I was not consistent with your truth Lord, today I will try again, and, with your help, I will achieve it. Amen.

JESÚS NECESITA SEGUIDORES COHERENTES

Lucas 11: 27-28

El texto en este día nos cuenta sobre una mujer apasionada por las palabras y los saberes del Maestro, al punto tal, que decidió “alzar la voz” entre la gente, para elogiarlo. Así de conmovidos salimos muchas veces de nuestras Iglesias, de nuestros devocionales y estudios, de nuestros tiempos de meditación y oración. Sin embargo, Jesús nos recuerda que el camino hacia el Padre, no acaba en lo que sentimos.

Es cierto que recibir las enseñanzas de Jesús y ser conscientes de la vida plena que nos propone, sentirse comprometido con su proyecto de Reino es una dicha que no todas las personas reconocemos. Pero Él nos pide también que seamos coherentes entre lo que aprendemos de su Ministerio y lo que practicamos. Esto implica, no solo el estudio y la concientización de su Verdad, también exige voluntad y disciplina para que seamos testimonio de una vida de fe.

Oración: Gracias Jesús por invitarnos a ser mejores a cada momento. Si ayer no fui coherente con tu verdad Señor, hoy volveré a intentarlo, y, con tu ayuda, lo lograré. Amén.
