NOT EVERYONE WILL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Matthew 13: 47-53

When it was full,the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in a basket, but they threw the bad away.  (NIV)

When Jesus begins his ministry, while walking looking at the Sea of Galilee, he found two fishermen casting their nets into the sea, and he invited them to follow him, telling them that, instead of catching fish in their nets, they would catch men.      

Jesus needed many followers. To follow him is to achieve eternal life.

In the parable of the net, Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a net that is cast into the sea and collects all kinds of fish. With this, he teaches us that at the end of history we will be separated according to how we were able to fulfill the purposes for which we were created, as well as the fidelity we had toward Him. God insists, because He loves us, on the good that we can always do.

 

Prayer: Heavenly Father, multiply your mercy on us so that we are always willing to be good fish, to serve in your Kingdom. Amen.

NO TODOS ENTRARÁN EN EL REINO DE DIOS

Mateo 13: 47-53

Cuando la red se llena los pescadores la sacan a la playa, donde se sientan a escoger el pescado, guardan el bueno en canastas y tiran el malo.

Cuando Jesús inicia su ministerio, mientras caminaba contemplando el Mar de Galilea, encontró a dos pescadores que echaban las redes al mar, y los invitó a que lo siguieran, diciéndoles que, en lugar de pescar peces en sus redes, pescarían hombres.

Jesús necesitaba muchos seguidores. Seguirle es alcanzar la vida eterna.

En la parábola de la red Jesús asemeja al Reino de Dios como una red que se echa al mar y recoge toda clase de pescados. Con ello nos enseña que al final de la historia seremos separados según fuimos capaces de cumplir con los propósitos por los cuales fuimos creados, así como por la fidelidad que tuvimos hacia Él. Dios insiste porque nos ama, en el bien que siempre podemos hacer.

 

Oración: Padre Celestial, multiplica sobre nosotros tu misericordia para que siempre estemos dispuestos a ser buenos peces, a servir en tu Reino. Amén.
