SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Matthew 19: 23-30

… With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Matthew 19: 26

Jesus is not saying that he and the disciples have anything against rich people. Of course, because many faithful followers of God in the Bible were rich. But he warns us that possessions can very easily distract us from God and keep us from devoting ourselves to building his Kingdom here on earth. If the Lord gives you the possibility to be the first, you have to behave as the last, that is, to serve.

Christ challenges us. We know that the life He asks us to lead is not easy. He asks us daily to trust God more. It is up to us to accept that in demonstrating that what comes first is not the goods of the earth. We trust in Him, knowing that each day will bring its own eagerness, remembering His promise to live with Him an abundant life.

Prayer: Father, may the most important thing in our lives be to follow you because having you we have everything. Amen.

BUSCAD PRIMERAMENTE EL REINO DE DIOS

Mateo 19: 23-30

… para el ser humano esto es imposibles, pero para Dios todo es posible.

Mateo 19: 26

Jesús no está diciendo que tengan nada en contra de la gente rica. Por supuesto porque muchos fieles seguidores de Dios en la Biblia eran ricos. Pero nos advierte que las posesiones pueden distraernos muy fácilmente de Dios y evitar que nos dediquemos a construir su Reino aquí en la tierra. Si el Señor te da la posibilidad de ser el primero, tú tienes que comportarte como el último, o sea, servir.

Cristo nos reta. Sabemos que la vida que Él nos pide que llevemos no es fácil. Él nos pide a diario más confianza en Dios. Está en nosotros aceptar eso en demostrar que lo primero no son los bienes de la tierra, sino que confiamos en Él sabiendo que cada día traerá su propio afán, recordando su promesa de vivir con Él una vida abundante.

 

Oración: Padre, que lo más importante en nuestras vidas sea seguirte porque teniéndote a ti lo tenemos todo. Amén.
