In Word and Deed

2 Thessalonians 2: 14-17

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope,encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

2 Thessalonians 2: 16-17 (NIV)

Once again Paul encourages the brothers and sisters in Thessalonica. He reminds them that God himself called them and made them part of his family through Christ. Now it was up to them to hold fast to the teachings they had learned. It was the time for them to be encouraged to say and do what was good.

This exhortation is valid for us. God calls us to retain the teachings that we have learned, that everything good we say be put to practice in our daily lives, the words become true deeds, and the message from our lips and hands be the same. Let us take what we receive from God to those who need it, for his goodness is not exhausted.

 

Prayer: God of love, encourage us to be messengers of goodness. May our lips sing of your goodness and our hands always be full of your love. Amen.

En palabras y hechos

2Tesaonicenses 2: 14-17

Que nuestro Señor Jesucristo mismo, y Dios nuestro Padre, que nos ha amado y nos ha dado consuelo eterno y esperanza gracias a su bondad, anime sus corazones y los mantenga a ustedes constantes en hacer y decir siempre lo bueno.

2 Tesalonicenses 2: 16-17

Una vez más Pablo anima a los hermanos y hermanas en Tesalónica. Les recuerda que Dios mismo los llamó y los hizo parte de su familia por medio de Cristo. Ahora les tocaba a ellos mantenerse en las enseñanzas que habían aprendido. Era momento de que se animaran a decir y hacer lo bueno.

La exhortación es válida para nosotros, Dios nos llama a retener la enseñanza que hemos aprendido, que todo lo bueno que decimos sea puesto por obra en nuestro diario vivir, las palabras se conviertan en hechos verdaderos, el mensaje de nuestros labios y manos sea el mismo. Lo que recibimos de parte de nuestro Dios lo llevemos a quienes lo necesiten, pues no se agotan sus bondades.

 

Oración: Dios de amor, anímanos a ser mensajeros de bien. Que nuestros labios canten tu bondad y nuestras manos estén siempre llenas de tu amor. Amén.
