GIVE OURSELVES COMPLETELY, GIVE OURSELVES WITH JOY

2 Corinthians 9: 6-9

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give; not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  (NIV)

2 Corinthians 9:7

Each one gives what he receives, and then receives what he gives. Nothing is simpler. There is no other rule. Nothing is lost. “Everything is transformed” is the chorus of a song by Jorge Drexler, and that little phrase contains a great truth. Many times, we are not aware of how important it is to open our hands to give to other people. Giving is giving, as Fito Páez also tells us, and this means without qualms or limits when it comes to doing good, with joy, not with regret. Perhaps we have not yet understood the full meaning of the Gospel, which challenges us to serve those around us, and in this way our spirit is also strengthened and our life becomes fuller.       

If we give abundantly, we will receive abundantly, not out of reciprocity, but because in life we   reap what we sow. Let’s give the best of ourselves, and we will reap fruits that we can put at the service of those who need us most.

 

Prayer: Lord, make me a sower of good, a giver of hope and love. Amen.

Darnos completamente, darnos con alegría

2 Corintios 9: 6-9

Cada uno dé como propuso en su corazón: no con tristeza, ni por necesidad, porque Dios ama al dador alegre.

2 Corintios 9:7

«Cada uno da, lo que recibe y luego recibe, lo que da. Nada es más simple. No hay otra norma. Nada se pierde. Todo se transforma» es el estribillo de una canción de Jorge Drexler, y esa pequeña frase encierra una gran verdad. Muchas veces no tenemos conciencia de lo importante que es abrir nuestras manos para dar a otras personas. Dar es dar, como también nos dice Fito Páez, y esto significa, sin reparos, ni límites a la hora de hacer bien, con alegría, no con pesar. Quizás aún no hemos entendido el sentido completo del Evangelio, que nos reta al servicio de quienes nos rodean y de esta forma también nuestro espíritu se fortalece y nuestra vida se hace más plena.

Si damos con abundancia, recibiremos con abundancia, no por reciprocidad, sino porque en la vida vamos cosechando lo que sembramos. Demos lo mejor de nosotros mismos, y recogeremos frutos que podremos poner al servicio de quienes más nos necesiten.

 

Oración: Señor, haz de mí un sembrador de bien, un dador de esperanza y amor. Amén.
