GO TO JESUS

Matthew 11: 28-30

“Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”  (NIV)

The children never seem to get tired. Although we know that yes, they exhaust themselves, that curiosity they have about the world, the need to constantly absorb and learn, both about their own bodies and the environment that surrounds them.

When we grow up, this characteristic of infants begins to seem strange to us, because we often feel tired, and if there is something we long for during our daily journeys, it is for the time to rest.

Isn’t that all we need? Rest!      

Living in constant communion with Jesus definitely lightens our burdens. When we continually seek Him to give Him our fears, when we practice the exercise of seeing and understanding life through His Truth, we find rest. The rest that Jesus offers us, the one we reach by being meek and humble of heart, is easy to find. We don’t have to wait for nightfall or find a special place to have it. Resting in Jesus transforms your spirit.

 

Prayer: Jesus, today I want to go to you in search of the rest that you offer me, I need it. Amen.

IR A JESÚS

Mateo 11: 28-30

Vengan a mí todos ustedes, los agotados de tanto trabajar, que yo lo haré descansar.

Los niños parecen no cansarse nunca. Aunque sabemos que sí, que se agotan, esa curiosidad que tienen por el mundo, la necesidad de absorber y aprender constantemente, tanto de sus propios cuerpos como del ambiente que les rodea. Cuando crecemos comienza a parecernos rara esa característica de los infantes, porque con frecuencia nos sentimos cansados, y si algo añoramos durante nuestras jornadas diarias, es que llegue el momento del descanso.

¿Acaso no es eso todo lo que necesitamos? ¡Descansar!

Vivir en constante comunión con Jesús definitivamente aligera nuestras cargas. Cuando le buscamos continuamente para entregarle nuestros temores, cuando practicamos el ejercicio de ver y entender la vida a través de su Verdad, encontramos descanso. El descanso que nos ofrece Jesús, ese al que llegamos siendo mansos y humildes de corazón es fácil de encontrar. No tenemos que esperar a que caiga la noche o encontrar un lugar especial para tenerlo. Descansar en Jesús transforma tu espíritu.

 

Oración: Jesús, hoy quiero ir a ti en busca del descaso que tú me ofreces, lo necesito. Amén.
