THE GENEROSITY OF GOD

Matthew  20: 1-16

Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you…

Matthew 20:14 (NIV)

Jesus clarified at length the rules of membership in the Kingdom of Heaven: one enters it only by the grace of God. In this parable, God is the owner of the farm and the believers are the laborers. This parable of Jesus was addressed to those who felt superior because of their lineage or economic position, to those who felt superior because they had invested much time with Christ, and to new believers as a reaffirmation of God’s grace.

This parable emphasizes the grace, the generosity of God. Let’s think about this  question: Do we feel jealous of what God has given to someone else? Instead, let us think of the benefits of God’s grace that have come to us and be grateful for what we have.

 

Prayer: Loving Father, I ask you at this time to fill my heart with gratitude for all that you have done for me, for the gift of salvation. Forgive my selfishness. Amen.

LA GENEROSIDAD DE DIOS

Mateo 20: 1-16

Pues toma tú paga y vete. Si a mí me parece bien dar a este que entró a trabajar al final lo mismo que te doy a ti.

Jesús clarificó con amplitud las reglas de membresía del Reino de los Cielos: solo se ingresa en él por la gracia de Dios. En esta parábola, Dios es el dueño de la finca y los creyentes son los obreros. Esta parábola estuvo dirigida a los que se sentían superiores por alcurnia o posición económica, a los que se sentían superiores porque habían invertido mucho tiempo con Cristo, y a los nuevos creyentes como reafirmación de la gracia de Dios.

Esta parábola enfatiza la gracia, la generosidad de Dios. Pensemos en estas preguntas: ¿Sentimos celos de lo que Dios le ha dado a otra persona? En lugar de hacerlo, pensemos en los beneficios de la gracia de Dios que nos alcanzaron a nosotros y estemos agradecido por lo que tenemos.

 

Oración: Padre amado, te pido en este momento que llenes mi corazón de agradecimiento por todo lo que has hecho por mí, por el regalo de la salvación. Perdona mi egoísmo. Amén.
