HOW TO PRAISE YOU?

Psalm 149: 1-9

Praise the LORD.Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.

I always remember fondly this song that I learned in church:

“Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his firmament,/ for his mighty works and his greatness/ praise him with the sound of the trumpet, /praise him with the psaltery, tambourine and harp,/ flutes, strings and dance, /cymbals of joy, /with resounding cymbals, /whatever breathes, praise the Lord. /Hallelujah, praise the Lord!”

The song was created inspired by this Psalm 149. I felt that my whole being was filled with a powerful energy when singing it. And in this way, it invited me to have a joyful, fresh, new worship, a worship that would renew the energies of the week. And so should be our liturgies: a sharing of hope, a feeling that our whole being is in function of connecting with God and the community, that restores and breaks down walls, that grows in adversity, that overflows with love.

Let us praise God not only in the temples, but in our daily actions, in our communities. Let us praise God by loving our neighbor, the needy.

Prayer: Divinity, may love be the banner in the actions of all. Protect us from all evil. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

¿CÓMO ALABARTE?

Salmo 149: 1-9

Entonen al Señor un canto nuevo, en la reunión litúrgica proclámenlo.

Salmo 149:1

Recuerdo siempre con mucho cariño esta canción que aprendí en la iglesia:

“¡Alaba a Dios en su santuario, alábalo en su firmamento/ por sus proezas y su grandeza/ alábalo al son de bocinas/ Alabadle con salterio, pandero y arpas/ flautas, cuerdas y danzas/ címbalos de júbilo/ con resonantes címbalos/ lo que respire alabe al Señor/ Aleluya, alabe al Señor!”

Inspirada en este Salmo 149 la canción fue creada. Sentía que todo mi ser se llenaba de una poderosa energía al cantarla. Y de esta manera me convidaba a tener un culto alegre, fresco, nuevo, un culto que renovara las energías de la semana. Y así deberían ser nuestras liturgias: un compartir de la esperanza, un sentir que todo nuestro ser está en función de conectar con Dios y la comunidad, que restaure y quebrante los muros, que crezca en las adversidades, que desborde amor.

Alabemos a Dios no solo en los templos sino en nuestro actuar diario en nuestras comunidades. Alabemos a Dios amando al prójimo, al necesitado.

Oración: Divinidad, que el amor sea la bandera en el actuar de todos y todas. Protégenos de todo mal. En nombre de Jesús, Amén.
