OUR NETS

Mark 1, 14-20

“At once they left their nets and followed him.”

Mark 1:18 (NIV)

From the beginning, the ministry of the Master is distinguished by his constant pilgrimage to the margins. It is on the road where Jesus begins the proclamation of the gospel, where he shares his teachings. It is there where he finds his first followers, those who leave their nets to follow him. It is precisely from the path of our lives that Jesus comes and calls us to follow him.

However, many times we find it difficult to respond to his call. We are not able to abandon our nets, we prefer to continue mending them instead of following him and sharing the message of the gospel.

Following Jesus, responding to his call implies letting go of everything that prevents us from doing so. Let us think about what those nets are that entangle us today, those that we have not yet been able to let go, and that separate us from the paths of full life and justice to which Jesus calls us.

Prayer: Traveler, even when we know that it is essential to follow you, sometimes we get entangled in our nets, we are not able to let go of them, nor to free ourselves from what we carry in them. Help us, fill us with the strength to do it and walk with you. Amen.

NUESTRAS REDES

Marcos 1, 14-20
