MAY OUR TABLE ALWAYS HAVE SPACE

Mark 2:13-17

When Jesus heard this, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.”

Mark 2:17

Our churches, even our lives, should be like a great table where there is always room for someone else. So many people are excluded, segregated, or set aside by those who follow dogmas and precepts instead of love and kindness. At times we close our doors to those who most need us because we believe they are not “adequate” or “correct,” without realizing that when we do this, we are the “inadequate,” “incorrect” ones.

Jesus was very clear from the beginning of his ministry, he knew perfectly to whom he would go and with whom he would share, and even so, many people called Christians don’t quite understand the true message of the Gospel. This text is an invitation to keep spaces open for those persons whom society marginalizes, condemns and separates. It’s just that they are the people who are most in need to sit down at our table, to enter our sanctuaries, and to be a part of our daily activities. They can have much to be critical of, but for those who know the true Gospel, the most important is to be aware of God. Let us go to those who are in most need, no matter who they are, this is the best way to show the God of love in whom we believe.

Prayer: God, let us always reach those who need it most, without taking into account dogmas, prejudices or personal limitations. Amen.

QUE EN NUESTRA MESA SIEMPRE HAYA ESPACIO.

Marcos 2, 13-17

Al oír esto Jesús, les dice: "No necesitan médico los que están fuertes, sino los que están mal; no he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores".

Nuestras iglesias, incluso nuestras vidas, deberían ser como una gran mesa, en la cual siempre pueda entrar alguien más. Tantas personas que son excluidas, segregadas, apartadas, por quienes siguen dogmas y preceptos, en vez del amor y la bondad. A veces cerramos nuestras puertas a quienes más lo necesitan, porque creemos que nos son personas “adecuadas”, “correctas”, sin darnos cuenta que cuando obramos así, somos nosotros, los “inadecuados” y los “ incorrectos”.

Jesús fue muy claro desde el inicio de su ministerio, sabía perfectamente a quienes ir y con quienes compartir, y aun así, muchas personas llamadas cristianas, no acaban de comprender el verdadero mensaje del Evangelio. Este texto, es una invitación a abrir siempre espacios para aquellas personas que la sociedad margina, condena y aparta. Justo son esas personas quienes más necesitan, sentarse a nuestra mesa, entrar a nuestros templos, ser parte de nuestras acciones cotidianas. Pueden haber muchas que critiquen, pero para quienes conocen el verdadero Evangelio, lo más importante es ser consecuente con Él. Vayamos a quienes más nos necesitan, sin importan quienes son, esa es la mejor manera de mostrar al Dios de amor, en el cual creemos.

Oración: Dios permite que siempre llegue a quienes más lo necesitan, sin tener en cuenta dogmas, prejuicios o limitaciones personales. Amén.
