FAITH IN JESUS SAVES US

Acts 16: 22-34

They answered, “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Acts 16: 31(NRSV)

The text invites us to have faith in Jesus as the first step toward salvation. The jailer saw the honest and God-loving actions of Paul and Silas, after having been beaten for announcing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The path to salvation is not easy, much less short. It is more of an anxious and extensive path which can put up obstacles, difficuties, and situations that aren’t very happy. Despite this reality of the Christain path, we can say that faith will deliver us to personal salvation and also that of our household. The imprisoned in the midst of their pain are in prayer and worshiping God, they do not fear, they do not doubt; faith keeps them in the spirit to continue with their mission.

 

Prayer: In the midst of our doubts and hopelessness, we give you thanks, Lord, for the gift of faith and salvation. We ask you urge us with your love and mercy to continue with your mission, in the name of your Son Jesus. Amen.

LA FE EN JESÚS NOS SALVA

Hechos 16: 22-34

Ten fe en el Señor Jesús y te salvarás tú y tú casa.

Hechos 16: 31

El texto nos invita a tener fe en Jesús como primer paso para llegar a la salvación. El carcelero ha visto que el actuar honesto y apegado al amor de Dios de Pablo y Silas, después de haber sido azotados por anunciar las buenas nuevas del Evangelio de Jesucristo.

El camino de la salvación no es fácil y mucho menos corto, es más bien un camino angosto y extenso, que puede tener obstáculos, dificultades y situaciones no tan felices. A pesar de esta realidad del camino cristiano, podemos decir que la fe nos llevará a la salvación personal y también a llevarla a nuestras casas. Los encarcelados en medio de su dolor están en oración y adorando a Dios, no temen, no dudan, la fe les mantiene con ánimo de continuar con su misión.

 

Oración: En medio de nuestras dudas y desesperanzas, te damos gracias Señor, por el regalo de la fe y de la salvación. Te pedimos que nos impulses con tu amor y misericordia para continuar con tu misión. En el nombre de tu Hijo Jesús. Amén.
