GOD WORKS IN US

Matthew 9: 14-17

Neither is new wine put into old wineskins; otherwise, the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins are destroyed; but new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved0

Jesus speaks of the importance of understanding the time in which we are living and adapting ourselves to it. In this passage, John the Baptist’s disciples gather around Jesus and ask him why they and the Pharisees fast, whereas Jesus’ disciples do not. Jesus replies with a parable about new wine and old wineskins.

In our daily lives, we too should be prepared to adapt ourselves to the changes that God presents us with. In the same way that the old wineskins should be put aside to give place to the new ones, so also should we put behind us what keeps us from growing spiritually and embrace the new opportunities that God presents to us. May we be receptive to the new wine that Jesus wants to pour into our lives so that we may fully feel his grace and transformation.

 

Prayer: Thank you, Lord for everything that will happen today. May we be able to thank you and learn from them all. Amen.

DIOS OBRA EN NOSOTROS Y NOSOTRAS

Mateo 9: 14-17

Ni tampoco se echa vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque los padres se revientan, y tanto el vino como los odres se pierden. Por eso hay que echar el vino nuevo en odres nuevos, para que así se conserven las dos cosas.

Jesús habla sobre la importancia de entender el momento en que vivimos y adaptarnos a él. En este pasaje, los discípulos de Juan el Bautista se acercan a Jesús y le preguntan por qué ellos y los fariseos ayunan mientras que los discípulos de Jesús no lo hacen. Jesús les responde con una parábola sobre el vino nuevo y los odres (cueros) viejos.

En nuestra vida diaria, también debemos estar dispuestos a adaptarnos a los cambios que Dios nos presenta. Así como los odres viejos deben ser desechados para dar lugar a los nuevos, también nosotros debemos dejar atrás aquello que nos impide crecer espiritualmente y abrazar las nuevas oportunidades que Dios nos presenta. Que podamos ser receptivos al vino nuevo que Jesús quiere derramar en nuestras vidas, para que podamos experimentar su gracia y transformación de manera plena.

 

Oración: Señor, gracias por todo lo que acontecerá hoy. Que podamos agradecerte y aprender de ambas cosas. Amén.
