 SAVED IN ORDER TO BE JOYFUL

Habakkuk 3:17-19

yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

Habakkuk 3:18 (NIV)

The prophet Habakkuk cries out for divine intervention, a fervent plea for God’s mercy. Today, just as in the times of the prophet, it seems that everything is falling apart; however, the prophet did not opt for complaint and discouragement, but preferred to rejoice.

We affirm that God is enough, in spite of calamities. In Him we can be joyful because he has saved us. Our joy lies in our intimate communion with the Creator, stripping ourselves of everything as we walk towards eternity.

The prophet knew that the Sovereign is in charge of everything, and soon divine favor will be seen, and hope will flourish. Happiness is not based on a temporary moment, but rather on the promise of salvation. Only God is enough to fill the emptiness, the sadness, the precariousness. Only Christ can change our lamentation into dance, only the consolation of the Holy Spirit can fill us with joy. 

 

Prayer: Your goodness is great Lord. You changed my sadness into happiness. You are the only one capable of doing that feat. We beseech you for those who are without hope that your light may fill them. Amen.

 SALVADOS PARA SER FELICES

Habaacuc 3:17-19

Con todo, yo me alegraré en Jehová, y me gozaré en el Dios de mi salvación.

Habacuc 3:18

El profeta Habacuc implora con clamor a la intervención divina, un ruego fervoroso por la misericordia de Dios. Hoy, como en los tiempos del profeta, parece que todo está colapsado; sin embargo, este no optó por la queja y el desánimo, sino que prefirió regocijarse.

Afirmamos que Dios es suficiente a pesar de las calamidades. En Él podemos disfrutar de la felicidad porque nos ha salvado. Nuestro gozo radica en nuestra íntima comunión con el Creador, despojándonos de todo caminamos hacia la eternidad.

El profeta sabía que el Soberano está a cargo de todo y pronto se verá el favor divino y florecerá la esperanza. La felicidad no se basa en un momento coyuntural, sino en la promesa de la salvación. Solo Dios basta para llenar los vacíos, las tristezas, la precariedad. Solo Cristo puede cambiar nuestro lamento en danza, solo el consuelo del Espíritu Santo puede llenarnos de gozo.

 

Oración: Tu bondad es grande Señor, cambiaste mi tristeza en felicidad, eres el único capaz de hacer esa proeza. Te suplicamos por aquellos que están sin esperanza para que tu luz les llene. Amén.
