CAN WE LOVE OUR ENEMIES?

Matthew 5:38-48

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Matthew 5:44 (NIV)

When humanity was immersed in the struggle to emerge victorious from the Covid-19 pandemic, many noble-hearted people said, “we will learn from the pandemic, and we will come out better.” Fortunately, the pandemic ended two years ago, but we observe with sadness around us violence, murders, apathy, indifference and wars.

The solution to the sins of humanity is found in Jesus Christ. He taught us to love our enemies, bless, do good, and pray. Only by doing these things can we be called children of the Father. The reward in loving even when it hurts, is difficult, yes; impossible, no.

We can do all things in Christ who strengthens us, strengthens us even to love those who would destroy us. The world will only learn this lesson when it loves with the heart of Christ. “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.” (Martin Luther King).

 

Prayer: Lord and God, your love is incomparable. Give us a sincere love, a heart capable of compassion for our persecutors. Amen.

¿PODEMOS AMAR A NUESTROS ENEMIGOS?

Mateo 5:38-48

Pero yo os digo: «Amad a vuestros enemigos, bendecid a los que os maldicen, haced bien a los que os aborrecen, y orad por los que os ultrajan y os persiguen».

Cuando la humanidad estaba inmersa por salir victoriosa de la pandemia del Covid-19 muchas personas de noble corazón decían: «de la pandemia aprenderemos y saldremos siendo mejores.» La pandemia afortunadamente terminó hace dos años, pero observamos con tristeza a nuestro alrededor violencia, asesinatos, apatía, indiferencia y guerras.

La solución al pecado de la humanidad se encuentra en Jesucristo, Él nos enseñó a amar a nuestros enemigos, bendecid, haced el bien, y orad. Solamente haciendo esto podemos ser llamados hijos del Padre, la recompensa está en amar cuando duele; es difícil, sí; imposible, no.

Todo los podemos en Cristo que nos fortalece, nos fortalece incluso para amar a los que quieren destruirnos. El mundo solo aprenderá está lección cuando ame con el corazón de Cristo. «El amor es la única fuerza capaz de transformar a un enemigo en amigo (Martin Luther King).»

 

Oración: Señor y Dios, tu amor es incomparable. Danos un corazón capaz de compadecerse por nuestros perseguidores, un amor sincero. Amén.
