THE PERFECT ROCK

Ephesians 2:19-22

Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.

When talking about very old buildings, we are always struck by the importance given to their permanence, despite the fact that they only consist stones of various sizes, but arranged in such a way that they are almost indestructible from the events around us, say storms, earthquakes or the weather itself.

In many writings of the Old Testament we hear of the Cornerstone on which will be raised an indestructible construction. This stone goes from the base to the top and gives security to the work, This cornerstone is Jesus Christ.

We have been called as aliens to form part of a family that dwells in no other place than in Jesus Christ. He keeps the Church strong. Although struggles and earthquakes surround us, the Church remains secure because its foundation is in Jesus. He will always be our Cornerstone. Let us dwell as sisters and brothers in this house which is the Church.

 

Prayer: Eternal God, we praise your Holy Name. You have created us your children and we will dwell with you in love and plenty.  Thank you, God. Amen.

LA PIEDRA PERFECTA

Efesios 2:19-22

Siendo la principal piedra del ángulo Jesucristo mismo.

Efesios 2: 20b

Siempre nos llama la atención la importancia que se le da cuando se habla de las edificaciones muy antiguas a su permanencia, a pesar de que no encuentran en ellas más que piedras, de diversos tamaños, pero dispuestas de tal modo que son casi indestructible, por los eventos a su alrededor, dígase clima, terremotos o el mismo tiempo.

Ya en muchos escritos del Antiguo Testamento se anuncia la Piedra Angular sobre la cual sería levantada una construcción indestructible. Este ángulo va del suelo hasta el techo, y da seguridad a la obra. Esta piedra angular es Jesucristo.

Nosotros hemos sido llamados de extranjeros a formar parte de una familia que no habita en más lugar que en Jesucristo. Él mantiene firme la Iglesia. Aunque nos rodeen luchas y terremotos, la Iglesia permanece segura, porque su fundamento está en Jesús. Siempre será esta nuestra Piedra Angular. Habitemos como hermanas y hermanos esta casa que es la Iglesia.

 

Oración: Dios eterno, alabamos tu Santo Nombre, tú has hecho que seamos tus hijos y habitemos contigo en amor y plenitud. Gracias Dios. Amén.
