DO NOT STOP

John 20: 1-2.11-18

The relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene is summarized in today’s Gospel, in which this woman is shown as the first witness of the resurrection, the witness par excellence, the one who leads the apostles to this experience. John testifies that Jesus sends her to announce his resurrection. Mary Magdalene never stopped, she was his follower and his apostle. This last mention should not be denied to her, she fulfills the requirements: to have accompanied Jesus in his life and to have been a witness of his resurrection.

In the Gospels it is narrated that other women also approached Jesus. They accepted him as the Messiah, followed him, cared for him; they were faithful disciples and accompanied him to the foot of the cross.

We must not forget that, in the last and difficult four decades of the last century, our women did not stop and kept the doors of our temples open, fulfilling their prophetic mission, teaching, accompanying, doing.

 

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, may our work not stop to announce your LOVE. Amen.

NO TE DETENGAS

La relación entre Jesús y María Magdalena se resume en el Evangelio de hoy, en el que se muestra a esta mujer como primer testigo de la resurrección, la testigo por excelencia, la que conduce a los apóstoles a esta experiencia. Juan da testimonio de que Jesús la envía a anunciar su resurrección. María Magdalena nunca se detuvo, fue su seguidora y su apóstol. Esta última mención no se le debiera negar, ella cumple los requisitos exigidos: haber acompañado a Jesús en su vida y haber sido testigo de su resurrección.

En los Evangelios se narra que otras mujeres también se acercaron a Jesús. Ellas lo aceptaron como el Mesías, lo siguieron, lo cuidaron; fueron fieles discípulas y lo acompañaron al pie de la cruz.

No debemos olvidar que, en las últimas y difíciles cuatro décadas del siglo pasado, nuestras mujeres no se detuvieron y mantuvieron abiertas las puertas de nuestros templos, cumpliendo su misión profética, enseñado, acompañando, haciendo.

 

Oración: Señor Jesucristo, que no se detengan nuestros quehaceres para anunciar tu AMOR. Amén.
