WE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST

Ephesians 4

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Our reality is immersed in a deep fragmentation. This is notable in all aspects of daily life. Religious and political extremism permeates very strongly in the minds of some people, which is causing division. Our Church must be an example of communion because the body of Christ cannot be fragmented.

The Epistle to the Church of Ephesus advises us as to how we can accomplish this. It speaks to us about the need to be humble, to recognize our limitations and weaknesses. Humility is the most fundamental Christian virtue. When we possess it in our hearts, then meekness emerges; to be meek, to recognize that we are always growing and learning.

Meekness is the gift of a calm spirit, which controls its emotions. With humility and meekness, we are then ready, with patience and love, to support each other and thus be worthy of the life to which we were called.

 

Prayer: Almighty God, we cry out to you to fill our souls with all virtue. Amen.

SOMOS EL CUERPO DE CRISTO

Efesios 4

Yo pues, preso en el Señor, os ruego que andéis como es digno de la vocación con que fuisteis llamados, con toda humildad y mansedumbre, soportándoos con paciencia los unos a los otros en amor.

Nuestra realidad está inmersa en una profunda fragmentación, esto se hace notorio en todos los aspectos de la vida cotidiana. Los extremismos religiosos y políticos están permeando con mucha fuerza en la mente de algunas personas, lo que causa la división. Nuestra Iglesia debe ser un ejemplo de comunión porque el cuerpo de Cristo no se puede fragmentar.

La Epístola a la Iglesia en Éfeso nos exhorta a cómo podemos lograrlo. Nos habla de la necesidad de ser humildes, reconocer nuestras limitaciones y debilidades. La humildad es la virtud cristiana más fundamental cuando la poseemos en nuestro corazón, entonces emerge la mansedumbre; ser mansos, para reconocer que siempre estamos creciendo y aprendiendo.

La mansedumbre es el don de un espíritu tranquilo, que controla sus emociones. Con la humildad y mansedumbre, entonces estamos listos para con paciencia y amor, soportar unos a otros y así ser dignos de la vocación a la cual fuimos llamados.

 

Oración: Dios Todopoderoso, clamamos para que llenes nuestra alma de toda virtud. Amén.
