PROPHETS IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY

Luke 10:13-16

“Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me, and whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”

Luke 10:16 (NRSV)

This title comes to mind when we read the words of Jesus referring to his own country, to his region, Galilee. From the start he was rejected and stoned. Despite his many miracles and encouraging and wise words, their hearts remained cold and dry

The Lord’s Church struggles in our countries, cities, town, and neighborhoods to change the hearts of people, of our brothers and sisters. Sometimes we get discouraged, we expect so much because of our commitment that we hesitate when we see that violence and selfishness continue in many people.

But the Lord says that whoever does not hear our words does not hear Him, and whoever rejects us rejects Him. So let us live each day in the assurance that Jesus walks with us and helps us in what we do, because it will always be his church.

 

Prayer: Spirit of God, your infinite grace fills us with faith and strenth to continue. We trust in you. Amen.

PROFETAS EN SU TIERRA

Lucas 10:13-16

El que a vosotros oye, a mí me oye, y el que a ustedes desecha, a mí me desecha.

Lucas 10:16

Este título viene a nuestra mente cuando leemos las palaras de Jesús refiriéndose a su tierra, a su región, Galilea. Desde el principio fue rechazado, apedreado; a pesar de sus muchos milagros y palabras alentadoras y sabias, sus corazones permanecieron fríos y secos.

La Iglesia del Señor lucha en nuestros países, ciudades, pueblos y barrios para cambiar el corazón de las personas, de nuestros hermanos; y a veces nos desanimamos, esperamos tanto de nuestra entrega que vacilamos al ver que la violencia y el egoísmo siguen en muchas personas.

Mas el Señor dice que cualquiera que no oiga nuestras palaras, a Él no lo oye, y quien nos desecha, a Él desecha. Vivamos pues cada día, confiados en que Jesús camina con nosotros y nos ayuda en lo que hacemos, porque siempre estará con su iglesia.

 

Oración: Espíritu de Dios, tu gracia infinita nos llena de fe y fuerza para seguir. Confiamos en ti. Amén.
