Anniversary of the Church at Guanabacoa

THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH

Psalm 18:2-5

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 18:2 (NIV)

This passage speaks of elements such as the rock and the castle, strong and powerful.

If we place our trust in God and let Him sustain us in difficult times, our lament will not be so hard.

Our God does not save us from battles, but He is our faithful shield. He does not deliver us from trials, but in Him, we find refuge in the midst of despair.

As one of our hymns in the Presbyterian Hymnal goes: “the Lord is my strength and my might, the Lord is my shepherd, in Him I trust, I will not be afraid.”

Prayer: Dear God, in you I trust, I will not be afraid. I ask you for strength to face the trials of life as your son Jesus taught us: through love. Amen.

Aniversario  de la Iglesia de Guanabacoa

EL SEÑOR ES MI FORTALEZA.

Salmo 18:2-5

Jehová, roca mía y castillo mío, y mi libertador; Dios mío, fortaleza mía, en él confiaré; Mi escudo, y la fuerza de mi salvación, mi alto refugio.

Salmo 18:2

Se habla de elementos como la roca y el castillo, fuertes y poderosos. 

Si depositamos nuestra confianza en Dios y dejamos que Él nos sostenga en los momentos difíciles, tan duro no será nuestro lamento.

Nuestro Dios no nos salva de las batallas, pero es fiel escudo, no nos libra de pruebas, mas en Él encontramos refugio en medio de la desesperanza.

Cómo dice una de nuestras canciones de los Himnarios Presbiterianos: “El señor es mi fortaleza, el señor es mi pastor, en el confío, no temeré.”

Oración: Amado Dios, en ti confío, no temeré. Te pido fuerza para afrontar las pruebas de la vida como tu Hijo Jesús nos enseñó: mediante el amor. Amén.

SUNDAY, MARCH 30th

I WILL PRAISE YOU

Psalm 117:1-2

Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.

We surely recognize these verses of the joyous song with the same lyrics, in our Presbyterian Hymnals.

How many of us have not praised God by way of song, dance, poetry, or some other form, always celebrating the life that God has given us and His mercy?

So, in the midst of happiness, let us praise Him! In difficult times, let us praise Him! Because God is our living hope.

Prayer: God of life, may our praises come to you and may you receive them with love. Bless those who praise you with their bodies and those who praise you from their hearts. Amen.

MARZO 30, DOMINGO

TE ALABARÉ.

Salmo 117:1-2

Alabad a Jehová, naciones todas; Pueblos todos, alabadle. Porque ha engrandecido sobre nosotros su misericordia, Y la fidelidad de Jehová es para siempre. Aleluya.

De seguro reconocemos estos versículos por el alegre canto de la misma letra, de nuestros Himnarios Presbiterianos.

¿Cuántos de nosotros no hemos alabado a Dios? Mediante un canto, un baile, una poesía, u otra forma siempre estamos celebrando la vida que Dios nos ha dado y su misericordia.

Así que en medio de la felicidad ¡Alabemos! En medio de los momentos difíciles ¡Alabemos! Porque Dios es  nuestra esperanza viva.

Oración: Dios de la vida, que nuestras alabanzas lleguen a ti y las recibas con amor. Bendice a quien alaba con su cuerpo y a quien te alaba desde el corazón. Amén.

SATURDAY, MARCH 29th

OUR MOST VALUABLE WEAPON: PRAYER

Ephesians 6:10-20

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)

Prayer is the Christian’s most powerful weapon. Through prayer we communicate with God; we can thank Him, ask Him, or talk to Him as our most faithful friend. However, the answers to our prayers will not always come when we want them to.

Let us remember that God’s time is not the same as ours and that He has a plan for the well-being for each of us. May our faith not fade when things don’t go as we wish or when we go through difficult trials of life.

Let us remember to pray often to strengthen our relationship with God.

Prayer: God of love, hear my prayers and guide me on the right path. Do not let my faith waver nor let me ever doubt you. In your hands I put my worries and longings. Amen.

MARZO 29, SABADO

NUESTRA ARMA MÁS VALIOSA: LA ORACIÓN.

Efesios 6:10-20

Orando en todo tiempo con toda oración y súplica en el Espíritu, y velando en ello con toda perseverancia y súplica por todos los santos;

Efesios 6:18

La oración es el arma más poderosa del cristiano. Mediante la oración nos comunicamos con Dios; podemos darle gracias, pedirle, o hablar con Él como nuestro más fiel amigo. Las respuestas a nuestras oraciones no siempre llegarán cuando lo deseamos.

Recordemos que el tiempo de Dios no es igual al nuestro y que Él tiene un plan de bienestar para cada uno de nosotros. Que nuestra fe no se desvanezca porque las cosas no van como queremos y pasemos por pruebas difíciles de la vida.

Recordemos orar con frecuencia para fortalecer nuestra relación con Dios.

Oración: Dios de amor, escucha mis oraciones y guíame por el buen camino. No permitas que mi fe tambalee y dude de ti en ningún momento. En tus manos dejo mis preocupaciones y anhelos. Amén.
