Grace in Everyday Life

Luke 1:39-56

Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!

In Luke’s account, Mary, young and humble, visits her cousin Elizabeth, who is also blessed by God. But this everyday encounter happens to be something more, it is transformed into a hymn of praise.

Like Mary, we often live these seemingly ordinary moments: a small act of kindness, a visit, an unexpected conversation with someone we haven’t seen for a long time. However, God’s grace is present even in these small instances of our lives.

Mary’s faith, her belief in the divine promises, filled her with joy and moved her to proclaim God’s greatness. We too, by believing, can experience that beatitude and transform our daily lives into hymns of praise, a witness to the faithfulness and power of God at work in the ordinary.

Prayer: Almighty God, open our eyes to recognize your grace in the simple moments of life. Like Mary, help us to believe in your promises and to proclaim your greatness with joy and gladness. Transform our daily lives into a hymn of praise for your faithfulness. Amen.

La gracia en la cotidianidad

Lucas 1:39-56

Bienaventurada la que creyó, porque se cumplirá lo que le fue dicho de parte del Señor.

En el relato de Lucas, María, joven y humilde, visita a su prima Isabel, también bendecida por Dios. Pero este encuentro cotidiano pasa a ser algo más, se transforma en un himno de alabanza.

Cómo María, nosotros muchas veces vivimos estos momentos aparentemente ordinarios: un pequeño acto bondadoso, una visita, una conversación inesperada con alguien que no vemos hace mucho; sin embargo, la gracia de Dios está presente hasta en estos pequeños instantes de nuestras vidas.

La fe de María, su creencia en las promesas divinas, la llenó de alegría y la impulsó a proclamar la grandeza de Dios. Nosotros también, al creer, podemos experimentar esa bienaventuranza y transformar nuestra vida cotidiana en himnos de alabanza, un testimonio de la fidelidad y el poder de Dios obrando en lo ordinario.

Oración: Dios Todopoderoso, abre nuestros ojos para reconocer tu gracia en los momentos simples de la vida. Como María, ayúdanos a creer en tus promesas y a proclamar tu grandeza con alegría y gozo. Transforma nuestra cotidianidad en un himno de alabanza a tu fidelidad. Amén.

Christ in the Midst of Pain

John 16:20-23

So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

John 16:22 (NIV)

How many times do we feel this pain that Jesus speaks of? The illness of a loved one, the loss of employment, difficulty in relationships, the uncertainty that strikes us day after day… These are like birth pains that shake us. And Jesus tells us, now we have sadness, but that sadness will not last forever.

In every moment of loneliness, sadness, or uncertainty, let us remember with joy that Christ will see us again. His joy, sown in the heart by faith, is a firm rock in the storm. A joy that neither Monday morning, nor the noisy neighbor, nor the unpayable bill, nor the endless blackouts can take away from us. For that joy does not depend on circumstances, but on the constant and faithful presence of Christ in our lives.

Prayer: Provident God, thank you for your promise in the midst of pain. Help us to remember the joy that comes from your presence in everyday moments. May this unwavering joy strengthen our faith and move us to love and serve at all times. Amen.

Aniversario de la IPR Nueva Paz

Cristo en medio del dolor

Juan 16:20-23

También vosotros ahora tenéis tristeza; pero os volveré a ver, y se gozará vuestro corazón, y nadie os quitará vuestro gozo.

Juan 16:22

¿Cuántas veces sentimos ese dolor del que habla Jesús? La enfermedad de un ser querido, la pérdida del empleo, la dificultad en las relaciones, la incertidumbre que nos golpea día a día... Son dolores de parto que nos sacuden. Y Jesús nos lo dice, ahora tenemos tristeza, pero esa tristeza no va a ser eterna.

En cada momento de soledad, tristeza, incertidumbre, recordemos con alegría que Cristo volverá a vernos. Su gozo, sembrado en el corazón por la fe, es una roca firme en la tempestad. Un gozo que ni el lunes por la mañana, ni el vecino ruidoso, ni la factura impagable, ni los interminables apagones pueden arrebatarnos. Porque ese gozo no depende de las circunstancias, sino de la presencia constante y fiel de Cristo en nuestras vidas.

Oración: Dios providente, gracias por tu promesa en medio del dolor. Ayúdanos a recordar la alegría que proviene de tu presencia en los momentos cotidianos. Que este gozo inquebrantable fortalezca nuestra fe y nos impulse a amar y servir en todo tiempo. Amén.

Shelter in Solitude

John 14: 15-31

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

Juan 14:18 (NIV)

The daily hustle and bustle sometimes isolates us: the empty house after the children leave, the feeling of not being listened to at work, the distance from friends. In those moments, do we not feel orphaned, abandoned?

The promise of Jesus in John 14:18 resonates strongly: “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” Let us remember that we are never alone. We are not left to our own devices or luck. In the midst of whatever we are going through, Christ draws near to us and wraps us in. It is not a vague presence, but a very real and transformative one. He understands our isolation and fills us with his peace, his comfort, and his guidance.

Prayer: Eternal God, thank you for the promise of your constant presence. In those moments of loneliness, may we remember that we are not alone. Fill our hearts with your Holy Spirit, giving us the peace and strength to face each day. Amen.

Abrigo en la soledad

Juan 14: 15-31

No os dejaré huérfanos; vendré a vosotros.

Juan 14:18

El trajín diario a veces nos aísla. La casa vacía después de que los hijos se van, la sensación de no ser escuchado en el trabajo, la distancia con amigos. En esos momentos, ¿nos sentimos huérfanos, abandonados?

La promesa de Jesús en Juan 14:18 resuena con fuerza: "No os dejaré huérfanos; vendré a vosotros". Recordemos que nunca estamos solos. No somos abandonados a nuestra suerte. En medio de todo lo que estemos pasando Cristo se acerca a nosotros y nos arropa. No es una presencia vaga, sino real y transformadora. Él comprende nuestro aislamiento y nos llena con su paz, su consuelo, su guía.

Oración: Dios eterno, gracias por la promesa de tu constante presencia. En esos momentos de soledad, recuérdanos que no estamos solos. Llena nuestros corazones con tu Espíritu Santo, dándonos la paz y la fortaleza para enfrentar cada día. Amén.

MAY ALL OF CREATION PRAISE THE LORD

Psalm 148

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created

Psalm 148: 5 (NIV)

Beyond personal and community praise, there is the praise due to the Creator by all of creation: heaven and earth, awarded by identical mandates. Each call to praise is based on an explanation with identical presentations.

Celestial praise is based on the fact that God, the creator, is the one who organized, controlled and maintains everything. Earthly praise is based on the intrinsic glory of the Lord and the unique position of his people.

In this psalm the order of praise, downwards, refers to the celestial beings, to the communion of the Saints, then from the depths and the inanimate order, to the animal kingdom and humanity. It’s a way of saying, all that exists, all praise the name of the Lord.

Prayer: Loving Father, teach us to be part of your faithful people, that we may be your worthy children, recognizing Jesus, your Son, as our Savior and Lord. Amen.

QUE TODA LA CREACIÓN ALABE AL SEÑOR

Salmo 148

Alaben el nombre del Señor, porque él dio una orden y todo fue creado

Salmo 148: 5

Más allá de la alabanza personal y de la comunidad, está la alabanza debida al Creador por parte de toda la creación: el cielo y la tierra, adjudicadas por mandatos idénticos. Cada llamado a alabar se basa en una explicación con presentaciones idénticas.

La alabanza celestial se basa en el hecho de que Dios, el creador, es quien organizó, controló y mantiene todo. La alabanza terrenal se basa en la gloria intrínseca del Señor y la posición singular de su pueblo.

En este salmo el orden de la Alabanza, hacia abajo, refiere a los seres celestiales, a la comunión de los Santos, luego desde las profundidades y el orden inanimado,  al reino animal y la humanidad. Es una manera de decir, todo cuanto existe, todo alabe el nombre del Señor.

Oración: Padre amado, enséñanos a ser parte de tu pueblo fiel, que podamos ser dignos hijos tuyos, reconociendo a Jesús, tu hijo, como nuestro Salvador y Señor.  Amén.
