Called To Be Free

Galatians 5: 1-15

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.

Galatians 5:13a (NIV)

God sets us free to love, to serve and to do what is right. He does not enslave us in empty rituals that hinder the Spirit. God sets us free, so that this freedom may reemerge in our hearts with hope. We await and hope through faith and divine justice. Today our world needs justice, but perfect justice comes from God who puts into the human heart what is right, the assurance of being in his presence. All the ancient law can be summarized in one law: you shall love your neighbor as yourself. This is the law we must obey, the law of love. Nothing justifies disobeying this divine command. Nothing justifies hatred, exploitation, anger or violence. Nothing justifies not loving. Jesus said, “Therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do for you, do ye even so for them: for this is the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:12). We are free to not sin, and to walk on the right path.

Let us pray: Lord, you have called us to be free and through this freedom let us have hope. You set us free so that our faith may be manifested through love, so that we may always walk in the path of justice. Amen.

Llamados para ser libres

Gálatas 5: 1-15

...ustedes han sido llamados a la libertad...

Gálatas 5:13a

Dios nos hace libre para amar, servir y hacer lo justo, no nos esclaviza en ritos vacíos, que entorpecen al Espíritu. Dios nos hace libre, para que esa libertad resurja en nuestro corazón con la esperanza. Aguardamos, y esperamos por medio de la fe, la justicia divina. Hoy nuestro mundo necesita justicia, pero la perfecta justicia proviene de Dios quien pone en el corazón humano lo que es correcto, la seguridad de estar en su presencia. Toda la ley antigua se resume en una sola: amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. Esta es la ley que debemos obedecer, la ley del amor. Nada justifica el desobedecer este mandato divino, nada justifica el odio, la explotación, la ira, la violencia, nada justifica que no ames. Jesús dijo: “Así que, todo lo que queráis que los hombres hagan por ustedes, así también haced por ellos, porque esto es la ley y los profetas Mt7:12.” Somos libres para no pecar, y caminar en el sendero correcto.

Oremos: Señor, tú nos has llamado para que seamos libre y por esa libertad tenemos esperanza; tú nos hace libre para que nuestra fe se vea manifestada por medio del amor, que podamos siempre caminar en la senda de la justicia. Amén
