Mother’s Day

THE GOOD SHEPHERD

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

John 10:27 (NIV)

The good shepherd knows his flock, and of course, his sheep know him too. And so are our shepherds: they know their flock, they care for it, they make sure that all is well, that each of its members leads a better life. In the same way, Jesus cares for us; he feeds us and gives us the water of eternal life; he listens to our voices and responds to the requests we make of him through prayer. He knows our secrets, our ailments, and our joys, just as a mother cares for her children and a hen cares for her chicks. We will lack nothing because we have the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who offer comfort and provide for all we need.

Prayer: Mother, Father, Heavenly Brother, thank you for your love and your goodness. You are enough if you take me by the hand. I follow you, Lord, wherever you go, as a sheep follows its shepherd. Protect me and deliver me from evil, for yours are the power and the glory. Amen.

EL BUEN PASTOR

Juan 10: 27-30

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a los judíos: "Mis ovejas escuchan mi voz; yo las conozco y ellas me siguen¼

Juan 10:27

El buen pastor conoce a su rebaño, y por supuesto, sus ovejas también lo conocen a él. Y así son nuestros pastores y pastoras, conocen a su rebaño, lo cuidan, procuran que todo esté bien, que cada uno de sus miembros lleven una vida mejor. Así también nos cuida Jesús, nos alimenta y nos da agua de vida eterna, escucha nuestras voces y responde a las peticiones que le hacemos a través de la oración, conoce nuestros secretos, nuestras dolencias y nuestras alegrías. Del mismo modo como una madre cuida a sus hijos y las gallinas a sus polluelos. Nada nos faltará porque tenemos al Padre, al Hijo y al Espíritu Santo, quienes ofrecen consuelo y nos proveen de todo lo que necesitamos.

Oración: Madre, Padre, Hermano Celestial, gracias por tu amor y tu bondad. Contigo basta si me tomas de la mano. Yo te sigo, Señor, a donde quiera que vayas, como una oveja sigue a su pastor. Resguárdame y líbrame del mal, porque tuyos son el poder y la gloria. Amén.
