Go to Jesus and Believe in Jesus

John 6: 30-35

I am the bread of life.

John 6:35 (NRSV)

Getting our daily bread is today the major miracle of Cuban homes. Moreover, the text invites us to look at Jesus as the bread of life, who is our spiritual sustenance. Jesus is necessary for everyone’s life. Jesus tells us, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” Are we going to Jesus? Do we truly believe him?

Going to Jesus means following him, converting ourselves into his disciples, his friends, recognizing him as our older brother, making him part of our lives, of our table, opening our hearts to him, because we believe in him and commit ourselves to his work, choosing a life of service which makes no exceptions and is open to all with true love.

Today is a good day to turn to Jesus and to praise him for sustenance, food, and accompaniment in our lives in the lives of our brothers and sisters.

Let us Pray: Lord, I open my heart to you again; I want to receive you. Be our light, truth, and way. Give material and spiritual food to all humanity. Amen.

Ir a Jesús y creer en Jesús

Juan 6: 30-35

…Yo soy el pan de vida…

Juan 6:35

Obtener el pan de cada día es hoy el mayor milagro de los hogares cubanos.  Más el texto nos invita a ver a Jesús como el pan de vida, quien es nuestro sustento  espiritual. Jesús es esencial para la vida cada persona. Jesús nos dice “Yo soy el pan de vida; el que a mí viene no tendrá hambre; y el que en mí cree, no tendrá sed jamás”. ¿Vamos a Jesús? ¿Verdaderamente le creemos?

Ir a Jesús significa seguirle, convertirnos en sus discípulos, sus amigos o amigas, reconocerlo como nuestro hermano mayor, hacerlo parte de nuestra vida, de nuestra mesa, abrirle nuestros corazones, porque creemos en Él y nos comprometemos con su proyecto, optando por una vida de servicio, que no hace acepciones y se abre para para todos con verdadero amor

Hoy es buen día para volver a Jesús y agradecerle por ser sostén, alimento y compañía en nuestras vidas y en la vida de nuestros hermanos y hermanas.

Oremos: Señor vuelvo a abrirte mi corazón, quiero recibirte. Sé nuestra luz , verdad y camino. Provee alimento material y el espiritual de la humanidad toda.  Amén.
