Passionate about the Gospel

Matthew 13:47-50

Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into a lake and caught all kinds of fish.

In the ocean, there are many fish, fish without hope, which are stalked by hungry sharks wanting to end their lives. Outside the church many people need the net of salvation, they need the net that will take them to safe harbor. How can we refuse such a task? Today, more than ever, God needs people who are passionate about the Gospel, people who make a difference and bring the light of Christ to all.

Fishing requires patience, waiting, being attentive, awake, and the necessary strength to get the fish out of the water. Experience is not rushed, nor is it improvised. Speed, little effort, winning at any cost quickly attracts many, but it bears little fruit. Our obligation is to be passionate about the Gospel. It doesn’t mean to be fanatical, but rather enthusiastic, loving the work of the Lord and saying to Him: “Take my life and use it to cast the net; take my life and use it to comfort the brokenhearted; take my life and use it in the midst of suffering to share your joy and peace!”

Prayer: O, God, use my life so that I may be a faithful witness to your love, to take your Gospel to those who long for hope, comfort and the peace that only You can give. Amen.

Apasionados por el Evangelio

En el océano hay muchos peces, peces sin esperanza, los cuales son asechados por tiburones hambriento queriendo acabar con sus vidas, fuera de la iglesia muchas personas necesitan la red de la salvación, necesitan la red que lo llevará a puerto seguro. ¿Cómo podemos rechazar tal cometido? Dios necesita hoy más que nunca personas apasionadas por el Evangelio, que hagan diferencia y lleven la luz de Cristo a todos.

Para pescar es necesario la paciencia, la espera, estar atentos, despiertos y la fuerza necesaria para sacar al pez del agua. La experiencia no anda de prisa, ni tampoco se improvisa. La rapidez, el poco esfuerzo, ganarlo todo de manera rápida atrae a muchos, pero poco fruto tiene. La obligación nuestra es ser apasionados por el Evangelio y no significa ser fanático, sino ser entusiasta, amando la obra del Señor y diciéndole: ¡toma mi vida y úsala para tirar la red, toma mi vida y úsala para consolar los corazones rotos, toma mi vida y úsala en medio del sufrimiento para transmitir tu gozo y paz!

Oremos: Oh Dios, usa mi vida para que pueda ser un testigo fiel de tu amor, para llevar tu Evangelio aquellas personas que anhelan la esperanza, el consuelo y la paz que solo tú puedes dar. Amén
