LET US PREPARE OUR HOME

John 14: 21-26

Whoever loves me will keep my word. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

John 14: 23(CEB)

The lesson for today shows how Jesus, when he prepared his disciples for his departure, assured them that he would return. He explained to them how this coming would be and how it would be expressed to them in that moment.

His words confirm that their relationship began while he was together with his disciples, and they can enjoy heaven on earth much more than we might imagine, when we are genuinely loving God and obeying God’s commandments.

In the question of the disciple, about those to whom it was expressed, we find the answer that comes into our lives today:  the condition for Jesus to express himself is LOVE (v. 23), which will be visible in following and fulfilling his commandments. 

God reveals Godself to the world through God’s Word and this need to draw close to the Word is a central requirement to know God.  If we protect the Word of God we love and fulfill God’s commandments, then the Father and the Son will dwell in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.  Let us ask ourselves, then: Is our life a place where joy lives?  What a big responsibility!

Prayer: Spirit of Life, come and live in our hearts and fill us with your love for your Word which surrounds us.  Amen.

ALISTEMOS NUESTRA MORADA.

Juan 14: 21-26

Si alguno me ama, mi palabra guardará. Y mi Padre lo amará,

y vendremos a él y haremos nuestra morada con él.

Juan 14: 23

La lectura de hoy muestra cómo Jesús, cuando prepara a sus discipulos ante su partida, les asegura que regresará; les expone cómo sería esa venida y cómo se manifestará a ellos a partir de ese momento.

Sus palabras confirman que su relación se inicia mientras está junto a sus discípulos, y que se puede disfrutar del cielo aquí en la tierra mucho más de lo que imaginamos, amando a Dios genuinamente y obedeciéndo sus mandamientos.

A la pregunta del discípulo, sobre a quiénes se manifestará, encontramos la respuesta que llega hoy a nuestras vidas: La condición para que Jesús se manifieste es el AMOR. (V.23), que se demuestra en el seguimiento y cumplimiento de sus enseñanzas.

Dios se revela al mundo a través de su Palabra y es esta necesidad de acercanos a ella, un requisito central para conocerle. Si guardamos la Palabra de Dios, amamos y cumplimos sus mandamientos, entonces el Padre y el Hijo morarán en nuestros corazones a través del Espíritu Santo. Preguntémonos entonces:

¿Es nuestra vida un lugar donde mora a gusto?

¡Qué gran responsabilidad!

Oración: Espíritu de Vida, ven a habitar a nuestros corazones y llénanos de tu Amor para compartir tu Palabra a quienes nos rodean. Amén.
