THE DEPARTURE OF JESUS AND THE COMING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

John 16:7-8

But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

  John 16:7 (NIV)

Jesus’ concern was great. He was aware of the sadness of his disciples, for not understanding what He wanted to tell them by being tenacious and insistent with their questions, and the new revelations of Jesus increased their perplexity.

In order to alleviate their sadness Jesus assured them that his departure would be beneficial for them. Jesus is the means by which God condemned the wicked ruler of the present age.

Jesus argues that the Ministry of the Holy Spirit would be: to lead the world out of the error of not knowing the true nature of sin, for their unbelief in his person leads them to it; to convince them of the emptiness of their own righteousness based on the “principles of this world” and not on those of God.

The Holy Spirit will guide the followers of Jesus to understand God’s Truth.

Prayer: Lord, may your divine Spirit make us feel the fire of your love every day. Amen.

LA PARTIDA DE JESÚS Y LA VENIDA DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO

Juan 16:7-8

Pero les digo la verdad: Os conviene que yo me vaya; porque si no me voy, el Consolador no vendrá a vosotros; más, si me voy, yo os lo enviaré.

Grande era la preocupación de Jesús. Se percataba de la tristeza de sus discípulos, por no comprender lo que Él quería decirles al mostrarse tenaces e insistentes con sus preguntas, y  las nuevas revelaciones de Jesús les aumentaban la perplejidad.

A fin de aliviarles la tristeza Jesús les aseguró que su partida sería beneficiosa para ellos. Jesús constituye el medio por el cual Dios condenó al malvado gobernador de la era actual.

Jesús argumenta que el Ministerio del Espíritu Santo sería: sacar al mundo del error de desconocer la verdadera naturaleza del pecado, pues la incredulidad que han tenido hacia su persona los lleva a ello; convencerlo del vacío de su propia justicia basada en los “principios de este mundo” y no en los de Dios.

El Espíritu Santo guiará a los seguidores de Jesús para que entiendan la Verdad de Dios.

Oración: Señor, que tu divino Espíritu nos haga sentir cada día el fuego de tu amor. Amén
