FOLLOW WHAT GOD ASKS OF YOU

Deuteronomy 10,12-22

And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

In these times it is very easy to stray from the path, give way to selfish feelings, and direct our steps away from the good. It seems we have no reasons, no senses, no vocations that point to the good, to the ethical. However, what God asks of us, what he expects of those who follow him, is clear: to stand by those in need, to act from faith, and not contaminate that faith with our thoughts and understandings.

Today, Christian people more than ever, have the responsibility to challenge spaces and meanings, to find in God’s wisdom the strength necessary to resist evil. Today is a good day to reflect upon our Christian commitment to those in need, to the victims of injustice, to those who suffer, to those without dreams, to those who try to silence, to those we ignore, and to all creation. To follow God is to always act for what is good.

Prayer: God, grant that my actions and thoughts may always respond to what you ask of me. Amen.

Seguir lo que pide Dios de ti

Deuteronomio 10,12-22

“… ¿qué te pide el Señor tu Dios? Simplemente que le temas y andes en todos sus caminos, que lo ames y le sirvas con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma”

En estos tiempos, es muy fácil desviar el camino, dar curso a sentimientos egoístas y dirigir nuestros pasos lejos del bien. Pareciera que no tenemos razones, sentidos, vocaciones que apunten al bien, a lo bueno, a lo ético. Sin embargo, es claro lo que Dios nos pide, lo que espera de quienes le siguen. Estar al lado de quienes lo necesitan, actuar desde la fe y no contaminar la fe con nuestros pensamientos y comprensiones.

El pueblo cristiano, tiene hoy más que nunca la responsabilidad de disputar espacios y sentidos, de encontrar en la sabiduría de Dios, la fuerza necesaria para resistir el mal. Hoy es un buen día para pensar en nuestro compromiso cristiano con las personas necesitadas, con las víctimas de injustica, con quienes sufren, con quienes no tienen sueños, con quienes intentan silenciar, con quienes ignoramos y con la creación toda. Seguir a Dios, es actuar a favor de lo bueno siempre.

Oración: Dios, permite que siempre mis actos y pensamientos respondan a lo que pides de mí. Amén.
