RECOGNIZING JESUS

Matthew 16:13-23

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (…) and I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church”

When we lose sight of Jesus we run the risk of losing his teachings and his call to create God’s Reign. Therefore, it is important to recognize Jesus in our daily relations because Christ is the Son of a living God. But how do we recognize the presence of the Son of Man in these times? What are the signs that show the presence of God in our relations?

In Peter we find evidence of a great truth: the recognition of Jesus as the Christ. That implies the project of proclaiming the good news to every creature under the guidance of God’s Spirit. Jesus Christ takes pride in His people who spare no effort in serving through their gifts–that diverse people who go beyond temples and doctrines.

Prayer:  O Christ, we beg for your wisdom for the mission that awaits us. May we be the church faithful and reverent which is in communion with your ethical values of love and jusstice, in Christ’s name. Amen.

RECONOCIENDO A CRISTO

Mateo 16:13-23

“Respondiendo Simón Pedro, dijo: Tú eres el Cristo, el hijo del Dios Viviente (…) Y yo también te digo, que tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta roca edificaré mi iglesia…”

Cuando perdemos de vista a Jesús corremos el riesgo de perder sus enseñanzas y su llamado para la edificación del Reino de Dios. Por ello, es importante reconocer a Jesús en nuestras relaciones cotidianas porque Cristo es el Hijo de un Dios vivo. Pero ¿cómo reconocer la presencia del Hijo del Hombre en estos tiempos? ¿Cuáles son esos signos que manifiestan la presencia de Dios en nuestras relaciones?

En Pedro se evidencia una gran verdad: el reconocer a Jesús como el Cristo. Lo cual implica el compromiso de proclamar el evangelio a toda criatura bajo la guía del Espíritu de Dios. Jesucristo se enorgullece de su pueblo que no escatima para servir mediante sus dones; ese pueblo diverso que sobrepasa los templos y las doctrinas.

Oración: ¡Oh Cristo! Imploramos tu sabiduría para la misión que nos espera. Permite que seamos la iglesia fiel y reverente que comulgue con tus valores éticos de amor y justicia. En el nombre de Cristo. Amén.
